EOTD: MUA Poptastic Blues...

Last month was a a Sleek Acid-fest, so it was high time to dig deep into my drawers and pluck out a long neglected palette - this is MUA Poptastic. It has some really gorgeous shades, including five beautiful blues, and here I've used a couple...

These shadows are silky smooth and unbelievable value for $7.50 - how do they do it? I'm embarrassed to say I bought this palette almost two years ago and have so rarely used it - I can only think it's because I have way too many shadows in my collection, and I simply keep forgetting about it. But I've now moved it into a far more prominent position to remind myself in the coming weeks just how stunning some of these shades are - I'm already planning to use those pinks and the purple, and how about that gold? Might even do a look with all four lol...

Ok, so over the essence white kajal base, you probably don't need me to tell you that I applied the lightest blue on the inner half, and the deeper one on the outside - it's all pretty obvious really These shadows are all shimmers in varying degrees, and the consistency is like butter, even after all this time...

They have an iridescent quality to them, almost like butterfly wings :-) In the crease is MUA matte single shadow in Midnight, and on the waterline is essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in Cool Down...

As you can see my eyelashes are still growing thanks to RapidLash - golly, I can barely remember how sparse and wishy-washy they used to be, this stuff is positively miraculous

Take care of you,
kats xxx

    1. Hi Sandra, thanks for the lovely comment - I used to avoid blues (for about 30 years actually), but there's so many pretty shade variations these days xxx

    1. Aww thanks Indie darling - I did another one today, but it was a little disappointing because of the base I used. Still debating whether I'll post it or not - might be a good example of what not to do lol

  4. I've avoided blues for decades too, but you make them look so wearable. I start out trying a blue look, it comes out awful & I always go over it by blending greens, pinks or purples on top. So far, my only successful blue look has been with MNY color tattoos, but I blend a bit of green or purple in there too. I love the butterfly wing description.
I've got to get some of that RapidLash!

    1. Sounds like you need a very particular shade of blue hon - are you warm or cool skintone? I'm lucky cos I'm kind of neutral - my skin is a combination of cool base with warm freckles, and my eyes are a cool shade, so I can get away with aquas as well as powder blue and navy, but purple blues look awful on me. I had to experiment a fair bit to find the ones that work :-) And yes, RapidLash is ah-mazing ♥

    2. Ha ha! I did it yesterday! I used my MNY color tattoos: 3 blues (one is a limited edition from Ozsale) & painted pink at the inner corner. It was the first time I haven't done it then gone over it with another colour. I reckon it looked pretty damn good, if I do say so myself!
I'm definitely cool, no doubt on that front. Purplish blues are best, no powder blue for me! Most colours suit me as long as they're bright & clear.
