REVIEW: Vera Wang Lovestruck Floral Rush EDP...

If you're looking to freshen up your Spring fragrance collection, it's hard to go past this stunner from Vera Wang - Lovestruck Floral Rush. The scent captures the essence of this most preciously petalicious season, and how about that bottle? Crikey, I think this one wins the "absolutely fabulous" prize in my collection. I'm a huge fan of the original Lovestruck EDP (review HERE), and this second edition is just as close to my heart for different reasons ...

Lots of pics in this post because I CAN"T GET ENOUGH of the packaging lol! Such a riot of colour - it makes me smile just to look at it, and what's inside is happiness juice ...

It's so fresh and pretty - very obviously a floral, but it's tempered with some spice which I think comes from the Pink Pepper and Marigold. Top notes are reportedly Champagne (my nose still can't identify this mysterious ingredient) and Apricot Blossom, and then comes some White Freesia & Pink Passion Flower. Lasting power isn't the best at around 3-4 hours on my skin, but I expect that will improve with the warmer weather. The base is a delicious one of Ambergris, Cashmere Woods & Musk - yum! These are all ingredients I resonate with, and the resultant blend has almost a mediterranean tinge to it, so it's no wonder this is a fave ...

It's one of those fragrances that has that "just stepped out of the shower" quality, although some gals simply call it "soapy", some even go so far as to say "laundry detergent". Well it doesn't smell like any soap I've ever tried, but hey, scents react so differently on everyone's skin, so I'll not blame them for this unimaginative description. To me it's a perfect Spring scent - sparkling, refreshing as a cool sea breeze, and undeniably feminine ...

In summary I would call it a floral with a pinch of oriental & a splash of aquatic - so let's see, that makes it a florientalaqua ha ha! I would never buy a fragrance purely based on the packaging, but I did buy this without testing - however loving Vera Wang scents as I do, I figured I wouldn't be disappointed, and I sure wasn't. RRP is $69 for 100ml, but you can pick it up right now at Chemist Warehouse for $29.99 - for that heavily discounted price, I'm going to stash one away ..

Take care of you,
kats xxx

P.S. Linking this to Ingrid's Monday Madness Link Up Party  - the beaut reads start at 6:30am and bloggers can keep adding to it until midnight on Wednesday...

  2. I love all your photos! Purple is my favourite colour and I absolutely love the look of this fragrance but after reading that some people describe it as "laundry detergent' I think I'll have to sniff it for myself before I ever considered buying it! Hopefully it reacts on my skin the same way it does on yours. You make it sound divine!

    1. Definitely sample it Ingrid, and on your skin too, not just a card - I don't know where they get the detergent thingy from, it smells so fresh and lovely on me ♥x♥

  3. Wow there is a lot going on with that packaging! I do know the "soapy" scent, I've had perfumes do that on my skin after dry down, and it takes ages to come off!!

    1. Well Beth I guess at least it's a clean smell lol - this one doesn't linger on my ancient flesh. It's always fascinated me how the scent can vary - I've tried ones that smell divine on other gals, but on me there's not much difference between them and flyspray, in fact sometimes Mortein smells better! xxx

    1. Agreed Di, I wouldn't be able to afford this many if it wasn't for all their special deals - I'm hoping that Miss Vera brings out more in this range in other colour combos, I'm a sucker for the cap design and the bow xxx

  6. This packaging is everything! I love it so much, even that I love the original one little bit more. I'm not a floral scent person, but this florientalaqua scent could be a good match (and even if it didn't I would get this fregnance just only because of the packaging :D).
