EOTDs: Catch up time!...

Didn't get around to uploading any EOTD's last month, but I have a pretty big stash put aside, and in various colours of the rainbow. So without further ado...

Was quite chuffed with how this turned out - I normally apply the lightest shadow shade on the inner corner of my eye, but decided this time to pat down the darker blue (from the Annabelle Haute Mer quad) on both ends, with MBA Cosmetics Silk FX Babybaby in the middle and underneath. I thought it would make my eyes look smaller, but I actually love the extra definition. Waterline was Eye of Horus Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil...

For my face I used Mirenesse Liquid Silk Foundation, Ulta3 Pretty Plum Blush, and Face of Australia Lip Quench lipstick in Ruby Delight (added bonus of SPF30)...

My pastel blue jewellery collection is the smallest of the lot, but I'll work on it this Spring lol...

A very special friend sent me a whole stack of her Colourpop eye shadows (eternally grateful hon ) - this is Tink (matte charcoal) & Liberty (the most fabulous metallic silver in my kit!)...

These shadows are amazing - the pigmentation and buttery texture is almost impossible to beat, and they blend with just a few strokes of a fluffy brush. Waterline is Eye of Horus Charcoal Obsidian Goddess Pencil...

Mirenesse Liquid Silk foundation again (trying to actually finish a foundation - who me?), cheeks were Real Purity Frosted Orchid Powder Blush, and lips were Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Lust For Blush...

Dug through my retro jewellery box and was thrilled to find the acrylic "humbug" striped ring, and some earrings and a bracelet that I made over 10 years ago - confirmed my suspicion that I should never throw anything out lol...

For this look I decided to use ONLY Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils - Emerald Tabula & Scarab Sapphire. All these pencils are beautiful on their own, but I usually don't have enough time in the morning to let them set completely, and invariably cover them up with a matching shadow so the cream doesn't transfer to my hoods...

The green is such a good match for my eye colour, and the smudger on the end is excellent for blending before they dry...

Same foundation, cheeks were Laura Geller Blush 'n' Brighten in Berry, and that stunning red lippy is Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick in One-Of-A-Kind...

Was lucky enough to find the matching emerald crystal earrings at Lovisa for a ridiculously low price...

And this last look is from way back in June, but too spesh to neglect - Too Faced Chocolate Bar Black Forest Truffle, with a dusting of Champagne Truffle over the top...

Still in awe of how much I'm loving browns and taupes and caramels! All to do with my lighter hair colour I reckon. Eye of Horus Bronze Amulet Goddess Pencil on the waterline...

Maybelline Super Stay 24hr Foundation, Ulta3 Pretty Plum Blush, and Maybelline Colorblur Cream Matte Pencil in Plum Please...

And a massive thank you shout-out to neurotichellfem for the change-it-yourself battery tip. This watch has been languishing in a box for months, but I managed to get it working again for less than $2. I also replaced the batteries in three other watches - hon, you've just saved me a FORTUNE! ♥♥♥

Will post another four looks before the end of the month - and keep an eye out for my September giveaway. It'll be a special one as it's my 3rd year Bloggiversary!

Take care of you,

EOTDs: Sleek & Makeup Revolution Greens...

Holey guacemoley I can't BELIEVE April has been and gone! I tried to sneak in one last batch of EOTD's so there would be six to choose from for the May giveaway, but the clock struck midnight and so these will have to go towards the June EOTM  Anyways, I'm a massive green eye shadow fan (as if you didn't know), probably because it does give my eye colour a boost, and in the not so distant past I bought an entire palette purely for ONE green pan - whoops! This post features looks using this gorgeous hue from two of my fave palettes - Sleek Garden of Eden, and Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares...

As soon as I spotted this Sleek Garden of Eden palette, I knew I couldn't live without it - one of the prettiest colour collections in my kit. I put it away every summer so that I can discover it all over again when the weather cools down...

I used the three marked pans from left to right - their names are Evergreen, Fauna and Tree of Life. The latter is a matte, and incredibly pigmented. Actually they're all stunningly dense, and the shimmery ones are smooth and buttery and so easy to blend. For the base and waterline I used Eye of Horus Emerald Tabula Goddess Pencil...

On this day, I wore Maybelline Stay Matte foundation, their Master Highlight blush in Pink Rose, and lips were Mirenesse Glossy Kiss Lip Crayon in the shade 04...

And here's the jewellery, featuring my fabulous new glass bead necklace from Lovisa that was half price at their recent sale. I found the bracelets at Colette - not exactly the same shade, but close enough, especially at 40% off lol

Makeup Revolution Give Them Nightmares palette is another one I only trot out in Autumn and Winter - the colours are all so smokey and smouldery and broody...

The bottom green pan is a matte called Elm Street, and I used this all over the top lid and under the lower lashline.  I then blended the second pan (The Hunger) on the inner half. Base was Essence White Kajal...

Waterline was Eye of Horus Serpentine Sultry Goddess Pencil...

My foundation was Maybelline Super Stay Longwear, which might end up being my new HG - the colour (Sand) is one of the best matches I've ever come across. Cheeks were a combination of L'Oreal Le Blush in the shade Rosy Cheeks & Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light. Lips were Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Rum Riche...

Here's the accessories - I included the brighter green bits and pieces just to lift the whole look...

Well my lovelies, here's hoping May treats you generously and kindly

Take care of you,

EOTD's: bhcosmetics Olive Green...

Hallelujah it's Friday! I'm not jumping for joy just because it's the weekend (and I'm out of the office for two days!), but also for the fact that I get to spend (well hopefully) three nights with you my lovelies, catching up on my precious blogging  And I'm starting this round with some looks in what's turning out to be my favourite colour this season - OLIVE GREEN. Lots of clobber available in the stores at the mo' in this shade, and I'm embracing it big time. Also thought these two EOTD's might be of interest as I used the same main shadow for both, but they turned out quite differently because of the accompaniments...

This first one is from back in February (which is why my hair is looking somewhat vibrant lol). My base was Eye of Horus Serpentine Sultry Goddess Pencil, and the shadow I used for both was bhcosmetics MM4 - love this one as it's matte, and that's always a bonus with my particular eye shape as it doesn't transfer onto my hoods. I added a light sweep of Kat Von D Summerfly (gold) from the Monarch palette (soon to be discontinued - boo) over the top for some glisten and gleam, and used Eye of Horus Bronze Amulet Goddess Pencil on the waterline...

And for the first time in over a year, I forgot to note down what foundation I was wearing (seniors moment), but my lipstick was Lol Bronze Age, and on my cheeks was Lacura Mosaic Baked Blush Bronzer in Beach Babe. Please pardon the awfully grainy pic - camera crisis..

And here's the jewellery I chose to go with the outfit...

Look No.2 was from yesterday, and I was much happier with the result. Started with Revlon Colorstay Eye Liner in the shade Jade - a long forgotten crayon, and one that's now been promoted to the "use these regularly" jar on my bench. The olive shadow went over that, and I darkened the outer corner with bhcosmetics MS14, a very pretty deep blue, also a matte...

Used the Revlon Jade liner on my waterline too, and what a lovely surprise - it lasted almost the whole day!

So here's where my hair colour is at the moment - nowhere near as colourful, and with some highlights. Still a work in progress though, may go a wee bit more intense, but I'm fairly close to being content (for the time being anyway ha ha). Foundation was Rimmel Lasting Finish 25hr, cheeks were bhcosmetics Iris, and lips were Milani Cinnamon Spice...

And I couldn't WAIT to show off my fabulous new necklace from Lovisa - a bargain at their current sale, this was $34.99 but I only handed over $15. I'm totally besotted with their woven glass bead necklaces - last count I had six of them, in various colours of the rainbow, and I've had my eye on this stunning blue beauty for over a year. Slowly, slowly, catchy monkey...

Well that's it for now - wishing you all a truly relaxing and restorative weekend, and I'll be back with you soon

Take care of you,

SPOTLIGHT: Autumn Bling!...

Time to reveal more of my bling discoveries! My mission? To find some new colours, and particularly ones to co-ordinate with my Autumn/Winter outfits. Degree of difficulty? Blimey, I'm giving it a nine out of ten on the exasperation scale. Didn't realise it would be so hard to find anything other than purples, blues, clear and red, but patience (and vigilence) is its own reward, and I scored these three pretty little darlings in the space of a few months. All within my $50 budget too, although I did make a concession in regards to the setting of one ring, but more on that later...

So here's the first - quite a realistic representation of a peridot, and the perfect hue to tone with my olivey wardrobe contents. Olive green seems to be quite big this season - lots of tops, pants and jackets in the stores, but I'm finding it a challenge to track down any jewellery in this autumnal hue. I guess the clothing people aren't talking to the accessory companies! Anyways, I found this at Prouds during their sale a few months back, from memory it was almost half price ...

And this little treasure is my latest acquisition - last weekend actually. A stunning cognac Swarovski crystal, and the photo does it very little justice. In some lights it's palest citrine, and in others it's a rich brown with flashes of golden fire (as in the pic). Lovisa has quite an extensive range of Swarovski crystal jewellery, which is where I found this for $25. Only one catch, it's not set in Sterling Silver. But...I fell in love with the way the light bounces of every glistening facet so I bought it anyway, and will be especially mindful to remove it when washing my hands so the silvery plating lasts as long as possible. This ring is especially dear to me already because it's smaller than any of my others, and fits on the ring finger of my right hand - it's nice to have a change of dolled-up digit

And finally, my teal extravaganza. Could not believe my eyes when I spotted this in Prouds - you know I ADORE teal, and it's as if it was made for me! The original price was somewhat outside my range, but once the 60% came off, it was a done deal, and I even got five cents change lol. This is quite a knuckle duster - like my other multi-coloured Swarovski rings (here), it's a dome shape, but larger and more solid, and all the stones are the same glorious deep teal. It sparkles in a different way too as the crystals are a mix of tiny and large size (nothing in between), and the entire surface is covered, whereas the others have gaps between the stones. Out of all my rings, she is "my precious"

Well it's pretty obvious that bling rings are an ongoing and escalating passion of mine, so you can rest assured there'll be more sparklers to show you in the months ahead. Wishing you a wonderful Autumn

Take care of you,

EOTD: Australia Day Green & Gold!...

Traditionally I create a green and gold look for this special day, and who am I to break with tradition, especially given that once again this year I wasn't brave enough to tackle a red, white and blue combo! Besides, I DO love these two colours together, and I often combine them throughout the year one way or another. But I tried something a little more experimental this time around - not sure it was all that successful, but hey, what's the point of having a blog if you can't post even the dodgy attempts?

I was going for a kind of a wattle effect, and wanted to use products made by Aussie brands. So I started with Eye of Horus Emerald Tabula Goddess Pencil all over the eye, and waited about 3 minutes for it to set - anyone else wouldn't have to hold off for that long, but my pesky hoods get in the way and end up being smeared with the crayon unless I pause and try not to blink or look up....

Anyhoo, once it was safe to proceed, I took my fabbo Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24Hr Eye Liner in Pure Gold, and randomly dabbed it over the top. As you can see the pattern doesn't match, but that's what happens with freestyle painting lol. I used the EOH Emerald on the waterline, took it underneath the lower lashline as well, and smudged it and the outer corner with the built-in sponge..

Nice and simple, a bit different, and hopefully sufficiently Aussie enough to pass muster.

Whatever you do with your family or friends, I hope your Australia Day is a special one - keep safe, happy and well lovelies

Take care of you,

EOTD: Sugarpill Buttercupcake & NYX Green...

Last EOTD of the month so I'll make this a quickie - have lots of blogs to check out over at Ingrid's Monday Makeup Madness Link Up Party before I hit the hay  Dug deep into my drawers and found some old favourites. Sugarpill Buttercupcake, a stunning matte yellow gold, and a very soft foresty green from the NYX Bohemian Chic Nude Matte Collection - this is years old, but still has plenty of life left in it...

I stroked essence white kajal all over the top lid, patted the Buttercupcake along the lashline, and blended in the NYX forest green up to the crease. Waterline was Revlon Colourstay Eye Liner in Jade...

Foundation was Lancôme Teint Visionnaire, cheeks were Lacura Mineral Cream Blush in Soft Coral, and I added some Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light (where have you been all my life?). Lips were Mirenesse Lip Bomb #11 - loved this nude shade, but it was past its use by date and smelt funny, so I tossed it when I got home...

More looks coming in December - might even have a play with some Christmassy themes

Take care of you,
