Not my highest number of empties ever recorded, however 24 is a pretty good effort, and of course, a bottle of perfume and two foundations will always be a significant achievement for me given the sheer volume of part-used ones in my kit. Another noteworthy inclusion is that the Neutrogena skincare I listed in the January post is here again - that's quite something considering how frequently I change the lineup in my routine, and there's every likelihood that you'll see them in the Regulars section next time around. Oh, and in case you're wondering, there's no Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence in the photo purely due to timing - it's still one of my essentials, I just didn't finish the bottle before the end of March...

My preferred natural deodorant doesn't control wetness enough in the hot humid weather, so I go back to my fave Dove for the sticky months. This is the only product in the range that I'm not shouting about from the rooftops. It's potent that's for sure, so much so I can only use it at night or else the skin above my eyes starts to peel. While it's keeping the area hydrated and firm, I can't honestly say I'm seeing any startling improvements in my wrinkles. I'm onto my second tube and will definitely finish it, but it had better start working some magic ♥...

This is actually one of my favourite cleansers, but it hasn't appeared here for 12 months, purely because I was on a mission to clear the other nine opened cleansers on my bench. I'm still not there yet (three more to go) but I missed it so much I went back to it for the last part of the summer. I love that it is low-sudsing and doesn't dry my skin, but still takes off all the goop. And well hey, it's charcoal ha ha! ♥♥♥...

Absolutely loved it - intrigued and delighted to have eye flaps for a COMPLETE experience. This is ultra hydrating, fits really well, and I didn't apply anything else to my skin that night - whoa! ♥♥♥...

Skin Republic Volcanic Ash Mud Sheet Mask (RRP $12)

The mud impregnated masks are my favourite kind from this brand - they adhere well to the skin so you can do things while you're having the treatment without them shifting or peeling off, and I find they deliver as advertised. This one really does tighten and firm, and the surface of my skin always looks ultra smooth and refined afterwards, and there's no mess. The trick is to wait till they're on special, and then buy a few - highly recommended, the Pink Clay and Green Tea ones are also brilliant ♥♥♥...

SPOTLIGHT: August Empties!...

Eeek! With all the Bloggiversary giveaways, I didn't get to post my August Empties, and September ones are in the box waiting their turn too, but first things first. Another big month - I decided to use up some small sample tubes that have been cluttering my drawers for some time, and I'm feeling good about clearing a wee bit more space. This was a 15ml sample tube that came in one of my Marie Claire Ageless parcels (incidentally I'm shattered this quarterly box has been discontinued, it was SO good). A lovely lightweight cream that's intensely hydrating, has a delightful and delicate fragrance, and is suitable for sensitive skin. Absorbs within a few seconds leaving the skin surface silky soft and smooth. You really can't go wrong with anything by Bioderma ♥...

Freeze 24.7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum (7ml, RRP US$56)

I forget how this came into my possession (a sub box?), but I sure didn't buy it, and with a US$56 price tag, that's a good thing. Have read mixed reviews of this product online - some gals say they would kill for it, while others (like me) experienced no change whatsoever in their issues (puffiness/dark circles/fine lines etc). It's a clear gel that doesn't hydrate at all, so you need an eye cream as well. There's definitely a tightening sensation as it dries, but for the outrageous cost of such a microscopic tube, I expected SOMETHING!...

Innoxa Gentle Cleansing Gel (75ml, RRP $14.99)

Disappointed with this - didn't like the smell, and while it sure is gentle and it's a gel, I didn't find it all that effective at removing the layers of slap that I wear on weekdays. Absolutely amazing list of organic ingredients, but hey, if it doesn't work all that well AND I don't like the fragrance, forget it...

Mirenesse Youth Switch DNA Stem Cell Booster Eye Cream (10g, RRP $59.95)

Gosh I have so much Mirenesse skincare in my collection that has arrived via VIP packs, so it was time to test out another. They do make lovely products, and the online reviews of some of them are astounding - I just find most of them to be nothing special as far as targeting my particular advanced ageing skin concerns. This eye cream is super hydrating, the packaging is stunning, it has a nifty little paddle applicator (although I always use my pinky), but obviously I don't need DNA Stem Cells as I noticed no change in my crinkles. Mind you there was no further deterioration while I used it, but I'd rather spend my $60 on something that gives me visible results in a few weeks...

Nature's Care All Natural Paw Paw Lip Balm (10g, RRP $3.99)

Excellent lip balm, no better or worse than any of the other Paw Paw varieties out there for a similar price. Available from the supermarket, I find this type of liquid balm to be more hydrating than any stick variety, they're just not as convenient to apply. This is an Aussie brand ♥...

NeoStrata Renewal Cream (30g, RRP $58.50)

I've tried quite a few NeoStrata creams now, and am suitably impressed with the quality, and their range is quite extensive. I reckon it's a case of finding the right product for the issues you're dealing with. I wanted this one to work on my skin texture and pore size - didn't notice any change, but it felt like it was doing something (tingling). According to their website, there was no pore size reduction observed until the product had been used for 3 months, so I probably need to line up a few tubes and actually stick with something for a while lol...

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque (15g, RRP $4.99)

After falling head over heels for their Dead Sea Mud Pac, I was all set to be hooked on this charcoal one (considering I'm charcoal-obsessed), but to be honest...it scared me. It's an exfoliator as well - walnut shells, but it felt like coarse sand (or fine gravel), and after the first few finger swipes, I didn't dare massage it in. Maybe I got a dud batch with extra granules, but I would class this product under "dermabrasion" because it almost hurt when it came time to wash it off. I had to rub quite a bit and my face was bright pink for a while afterwards. Admittedly my skin felt fantastic after it calmed down, but I wasn't mentally prepared for this level of resurfacing from a face masque - yikes!...

Well this surprised the hell out of me - so cheap and SO good! Absolutely lasts all day, the colour match is fantastic, although I'm bummed that either the label has come off or it never had one, anyway I have no idea what shade I purchased, so I'll have to take the bottle with me to buy another one (there's still a teeny bit left). The pump works brilliantly, coverage is full without looking caked on, SPF 15, and it's not tested on animals. Winner! ♥...

Maybelline Brow Satin - Dark Blonde (?, RRP $16.95)

My latest must-have brow product! I was perfectly happy with the ModelsPrefer crayon I was using, but I changed my hair colour slightly (amped up the ashy content to counteract the orangey tones it was developing) and consequently the usual brow pencil shade was too warm. So I bought several new products to try, all epic fails except for this one, and I was immediately hooked. It's the propelling kind, and it has one major flaw - if you wind it up more than a millimetre, it breaks off. Happened quite a few times before I twigged, and I went through the whole tube in less than 3 weeks. But I've got the hang of it now. Possibly the most realistic brow product I've ever used, the neutral tone is perfect for my new colouring. There's a spring-loaded smudger on the other end which also dispenses miniscule amounts of powder filler, but I never use it as it tends to flatten the hairs too much - instead I use a standard mascara brush to tidy up. Lasts all day ♥♥♥...

NYX Ombre Blush - Mauve Me (8g, RRP $17.95)

Methinks this is my favourite blush EVER - the colour is just perfect for my skin tone, it's the only blush in my kit that makes me look like I'm genuinely blushing. By that I mean it looks real, and the fact that I used it up ENTIRELY over a period of 12 months says it all. I mean, I don't think I've EVER hit pan on a blush before ♥♥♥...

REVIEW: Bulgari Omnia Crystalline EDT...

At last you are mine! Have wanted this gem from Bvlgari for yonks, and when it appeared in the recent Priceline Pink Dot Sale catalogue, I jumped at the chance to score it at a great price. For me it's actually a Spring/Summer fragrance, but sometimes the bargains appear in the opposite seasons, and I'm thrilled to have this in the cupboard for when the chilly winds have moved on to another part of the globe...

This is my second Bvlgari Omnia fragrance (the other is Indian Garnet), and my third in what I classify in the "crystal" perfume category (the other two are Versace Bright Crystal Absolu and Lanvin Eclat d’Arpège). They are all fruity florals, but there's a crispness, a coolness and nose-tingling quality that sets them apart from the other similar blends in my collection - it's almost like they contain fragments of snow or ice. Perhaps this is what other folks refer to as "aquatic"? Whatever it is, I'm hooked!

One major difference between Omnia Crystalline and the other two is that it is an EDT, so it's not quite so long lasting, nor so potent, and therefore perfect for hot sticky days when I want something more subtle. Still it lasts a good three to four hours on my skin, and it's truly magnificent from beginning to end. It has a woody almost spicy base which balances out the sweetness of the opening Nashi Pear notes, although my nose picks up more lemon than apple/pear. There's also Lotus Flower, Bamboo, Cassia, Guaiac Wood, Tea, Oakmoss and Musk listed in this magical blend...

ADORE IT! The packaging is divine, and I feel refreshed and cooled just looking at the silver & glass bottle. Apparently it was released in 2005 - just goes to show how big the fragrance rock is that I've been living under lol. Bvlgari actually classifies it as White Floral Woody, but all I know is that I just love the combination of fruit, flowers, and spicy wood. Come to me Summer so I can envelop myself in this clear and light crystal delight ♥

SPOTLIGHT: November Empties...

Gee after October's mega exercise, I was amazed at what I managed to get through in November. But I did forget to include hair care products last month, so they've boosted the collection this time around. And I've decided to keep going with this particular theme - for whatever reason, my first article is still scoring hits daily from Google, so someone must find the information interesting lol. Anyhoo, without further ado, off we go...

Schwarzkopf Brilliance Intense Permanent Hair Colour

I alternate between Hypnotic Red and the L'Oreal ones below. Maintaining my vibrantly-hued tresses takes a bit of doing, with fortnightly colourings a must. My hair is actually stark white and so the roots need regular touchups with this shade, but if I use it all over for a freshen-up, I find the rest of my hair becomes too dark (compared to the roots), hence the mixing of the two brands. It's a beaut non-drying formula though, and the pack contains one of those little blister packs of gloss serum. I never use the enclosed conditioner from any dye packs though, preferring to use specialised treatment products each time I colour. Previous review is here ♥...

L'Oreal Preference Premium Fade-Defying Colour

Two shade varieties here - Pure Spice Power & Mango. Orange-red seems to suit my skin tone better than blue-red, and applying either one of these to the lengths keeps the overall colour from becoming too deep. These packs also include a "Hi-Shine Elixir" gloss to go into the mix. I pick these up (and the Schwarzkopf packs) whenever they're on special (often only $10) so my cupboard is always well-stocked ♥...

REF Shine Spray

I use a range of REF hair care products to keep my hair in tip-top condition (will do a review of all of them soon), and I am never without this finishing spray - gives my locks an extra boost of mirror shine, and it's super light so there's no build up or sticky residue. Will be eternally grateful to my hairdresser for putting me onto this awesome brand, and there's always a spare on my shelf ♥...

Versace Bright Crystal Absolu EDP

My signature scent for the warmer weather (review here) - so refreshing, crisp and feminine, makes me smile, lasts all day without swamping the space around me, and I've had countless compliments, even from fellas ♥...

Transformed my skin to the extent that I looked like I'd been photoshopped, and shrank my enlarged pores more than any other product I've ever used. But at $130 a pop, I started looking for something else that would give me the same results for a lot less outlay. Haven't found one yet, so I'll no doubt buy another bottle before the end of the month. You'll find my bh reviews of it half way down the page ♥

nspa Peach Shower & Bath Gel

Will have to do another round of Confessions of a Bodywashaholic, purely for this brand - bargain priced from the supermarket, and some delightful fragrances. This one is my favourite - smells exactly like freshly cut peaches, and I mean EXACTLY. It's non-drying too, and a must-have for the summer months - picking up another bottle this weekend, without fail ♥...

Australis Ready Set Go Finishing Powder

One of my can't-live-withouts. I pat this on after I've primed, then add my foundation, and then pat again over the top - stops the shine like nothing else, doesn't accentuate my wrinkles in fact it makes them less visible (along with any enlarged pores) and it never builds up. Just have to make sure it's applied sparingly and evenly or else you see tell-tale white sections in photos taken with a flash (remember THAT picture of Nicole Kidman?). I always have one or two as back-ups ♥...

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner

Lost track of just how many of these I've bought - still the absolute best liquid liner I've come across, and I use it every day along my lower lashline, and then usally soften it before it dries with a shadow. Never EVER budges, and I don't seem to be able to make a mistake with it - a definite can't-live-without, and I have at least two of them stashed away at any one time ♥...

Glide Pro-Health Deep Clean Floss

I've tried all sorts of dental hygiene products and tools at different times, but I always go back to floss as the most effective way of keeping my gums healthy - this particular variety is not so easy to find, but I buy it whenever I see it (last time was at Chemist Warehouse) and I swear I have at least 5 packs up my sleeve in the bathroom.
