REVIEW: Schwarzkopf Extra Care 6 Miracles Oil Essence...

Another of my spoils from the beautyheaven Beauty Degustation Event back in June - Schwarzkopf Extra Care 6 Miracles Oil Essence, and I'm not telling porkers when I say this is the best hair oil I've tried to date ♥ Containing Argan, Monoi, Pequii & Marula Oils, this unassuming little bottle of tortured tress treatment will have your dry and/or damaged locks back in tip-top condition in seconds...

I'm always a bit nervous with new hair oils, so I started with one cautious pump, but it's so light I'm now up to two squirts of this mane miracle - this may seem like a lot for short hair, but mine soaks it up like a sponge. Stroked through before blow drying, my locks are protected from heating horror stories, the frizzies are under control, and I'm left with silky strands, and a mirror shine. Despite the weightlessness of the formula, it still gives my hair a delicately fragranced dose of hefty nourishment, without the slightest bit of greasiness. I have oily roots and damaged ends, but even after three days, my hair still has bounce, body and shine...

The bottle is made from sturdy plastic, and being a smaller size than others on the market (75mls), there's no chance of it thickening or turning gloopy before I reach the bottom, plus the compact size takes up far less room in my weekender bag. It smells fantastic too - like nutty nougat, but not overly sweet, and after blasting away with my dryer on maxi heat, my hair just smells fresh and clean.

As I often do with my reviews, I've saved the best till last - it only costs $10.99 at the supermarket! I gave it 5 very well deserved stars in my bh review ♥

EOTD & REVIEW: MUA LUXE Pretty Edgy palette...

Woo hoo! At last I've found a "neutral" palette that I absolutely adore - the MUA LUXE Pretty Edgy Eyeshadow Palette. I gave one of these away just last month, but it looked so gorgeous, I ordered two and kept one for myself ♥ The top row of shimmers are simply divine - silky smooth and with enough butteryness to make them rich and creamy, barely any fallout, and they're pure bliss to blend...

Thankfully it's now back in stock, and you can pick one up for the bargain price of $14.17.  Here's a reminder of what the funky gold studded case looks like, front and back...

I love this SO much I'm tempted to play with it every other day, which is a first for me with what I would classify as a fairly neutral palette. The case is made of super strong glossy plastic, and there's a full-size mirror inside, so it's fab for travelling...

On the upper lid I used creamy white Antique on the inner corner, blended into preciously pale pink Toile, and finished with pinky red Lace, all applied over the top of Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk...

On the outer corner and underneath the lower lashes I smudged purpley matte Wrath, and to tie everything together, I lined my waterline with a blend of ModelsPrefer Matte Black Kohl Pencil, and essence white kajal. All the mattes on the bottom row are sensational - not the least bit chalky, and the pigments are particularly potent...

Now you know I'm a colour freak, but I'm loving this palette because there's enough hue variety to keep me interested, and the pinks are amazingly flattering, even on my old eyes. The mix of toning mattes and shimmers is an inspired one  - the best of both worlds ♥

In short, I can't recommend this palette highly enough - the quality of every part of it is outstanding, it's incredibly cheap, and I can't imagine any gal not loving it as much as I do ♥

SPOTLIGHT: Beautyheaven Top 100 Products of All Time!...

Last week there was a pretty major event in the beauty industry - those hard working gals at beautyheaven delved into their massive database of member reviews, crunched a gazillion numbers, and came up with the Top 100 Beauty Products Of All Time -  what a job, and what a list! I'm only just now working my way through this amazing array of products. The results were determined by analysing the total number of reviews and overall star rating awarded by their 160,000 members. That's a whole lotta consumer love, and finding out what tickles the fancies of beauty fans makes pretty darn interesting reading...

It's no surprise that a perfume scored the #1 spot - let's face it gals, what else can transform our mood from dull-as-ditchwater to delight in the time it takes to spritz a delicious fragrance? I've listed the Top 10 placegetters below (I can't believe I've only tried half of them!), and I've included pics of the ones that have earned a rightful place in my kit, and that I can personally vouch for 100% ♥ Now I just have to get my act together and get my hot little hands on the rest of the star performers!

EOTD: Urban Decay Peace...

Praise the maker! Spring has sprung, the grass has ris, I wonder where the flowers is? Lol my Dad used to say this little rhyme when I was a kiddywink, and I've never forgotten it because it's just so darn cheerful - just like this most precious of seasons. How could I not kick it off with a bold and bright turquoise from those clever folks at Urban Decay...

UD Peace is such a fabulous blue - the pigment is out of this world, and there's very little fallout, even when packing it on as I did here. Actually it's so intense it doesn't really need a base, but I used one anyway - essence BBC All Night Blue gel liner. Love the fact that it's waterproof (vital for someone like me who's eyes water at the whisper of a cool breeze) and of all the gels in my kit, it's probably the best stayer in the waterline department, and an almost perfect match to the shadow, which is why I added it here...

For my lips, I started with Rimmel 1000 Kisses Lip Liner in the shade Indian Pink, topped that with NYX lipstick in (also) Indian Pink, and glossed over everything with Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss in Lust Me. Cheeks are Benefit Rockateur...

In the crease is Revlon Matte Riviera Blue - yet another one of my ancient shadows that's still performing brilliantly. It has quite a bit of green in it, which is why it teams exceptionally well with turquoise...
