REVIEW: Chi Chi "Meet The Girls" - Vanillas...

Attention vanilla fragrance lovers! You're in for a real treat because there's two varieties of this delicious gourmand scent in the latest Chi Chi Meet The Girls Fragrance Collection. I'm reviewing both at the same time for two reasons - the comparison between the two is most interesting (one is subtle and the other is as subtle as a sledgehammer lol), and my blogging time keeps being eaten away by my work commitments, boo!

Anyways, before my phone demands my undivided attention yet again, here's my take on these two babes...

Warm Vanilla Sugar

Whoa! "Warm" is an understatement - on the contrary, my nose tells me a more appropriate label would be Sizzling Hot ha ha! This is one of the most potent fragrances I've ever tried - because of it's strength, I reckon gals with an undying passion for vanilla will be tripping with delight. This is a stayer too - the initial opening power-packed punch is sustained for hours and hours. It's SO strong, at first I didn't think I could wear it, but after a few teeny spritzes every other day for a week, I'm used to the wham-bam effect, and seriously in love. Lasting a good 5 hours, this is definitely not suitable for confined spaces or the scent-sensitive, in fact I'd recommend spraying it onto a finger (which you can later wash), and then dabbing it wherever you normally wear perfume. Amazing! And Chi Chi, whatever base ingredient it is that makes this particular one last would be a bonus inclusion for the other fragrances in the collection ...

Vanilla Spice

o me this one is a wee bit more spice than vanilla, but it's such a pretty little blend - delicate and refined, this will suit those lovelies who enjoy a far more understated foodie fragrance. Makes me think of Christmas, and all those yummy aromas that emanate from the kitchen when seasonal treats are on the stove, and in the oven. The cinnamon/clove content balances out the sweetness of the vanilla, and it remains (almost) the same from the initial spray to when it fades away just over an hour later (the shortest lifespan of all the fragrances I've tried so far in this collection), but what's left behind is a lovely soft powdery scent that is all woman ...

Are you a vanilla fragrance fan?

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  1. In love with the packaging Kat! I am a fan of vanilla however I tend to lean to the spicy fragrances more, so looks like they catered for me too!
Lovely post, the photos are gorgeous xo

    1. Yeah I'm more of a spice girl too Barbe - well, let's say oriental spice, or fruity florals, never been all that into the foodie kind, but these are kinda nice ♥ Thanks for your kind compliment hon xxx

  2. I love vanilla scents and Vanilla Spice sounds perfect to me. It's a pity the scent doesn't last for longer however. Great idea to do a comparison between the two.

    1. It's exceptionally pretty Ingrid - of course it may just be my skin chemistry. I've read so many perfume reviews where folks say the longevity is woeful, and the next gal says she can still smell it after showering. It's one of those fragrance mysteries I'll never understand ♥

  3. I seem to only go for fragrances with vanilla in them, although I think I would like Vanilla Spices the most. It's a shame they don't last longer. Are the bottles reusable? That would be handy if you buy the bigger version.

    1. Unfortunately the vials aren't refillable mskyliem - if I buy the big bottle I just decant it into one of those little travel sprays from Priceline. As I replied to Ingrid above, the lasting power seems to vary depending on skin chemistry, it's one of those things you have to try, and fortunately most Myer stores have testers of Chi Chi fragrances xxx

  4. I assumed the spicy vanilla would be the crazy strong one, lol. I need warm vanilla! I love vanillary scents but they often don't last long on me. They both sound lovely xx

  5. Great review, I love some vanilla perfumes and don't love there. I think if it was pure vanilla I'd love it but not sure about the spice smell here. I must go and check out their other perfumes.

  7. Subtle as a sledgehammer, that's me! I've got to get this set. I lay off perfumes in spring, so I haven't even thought of looking for this set in shops. I'm going to have to grab one before they're all gone. Maybe I'll grab an extra one or two for Chri
    stmas.

  11. I'm not a huge fragrance person. I often forget to put it on. I really like to put on light scents in the summer though. I especially like the packaging of these, pacifica has similar.. great for throwing in your bag! xo

    1. Well we're all different hon (thank goodness hey?) - I must admit I don't feel dressed without spritz of perfume. Definitely lighter fragrances for summer for me too - especially love the crisp fruity ones when the temperature goes up ♥
