Got a bit of an Autumn theme happening at the mo', so here's a toning LOTD. As we get further into the cooler seasons, I tend to go for deeper more ambery or bronzey shades, but as it's still incredibly summery here in Sydney, I'm still favouring lighter brighter hues...
I started with Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Stay on Lip Contouring Pencil in Clover - love these lip liners. They're only $8.50 and they are nicely opaque and come in a great range of colours...
The lipstick is Bloom Double Take in Brazil - I don't think they make this range any more, which is a pity because the other end of the wand very handily houses a gloss. Didn't use it this time around because the one that comes in this particular set is pale pale apricot, and I wanted something with a bit more oomph...
To make it a bit more pearly, I added Mirenesse Lip Bomb in #28 over the top. This shade is almost metallic when worn alone, but with a straight gloss lippie underneath, it ends up more soft and glowy than anything else...
Although I'm loving this last batch of warm weather, I'm actually looking forward to the change of season, wardrobe and makeup colours :-) Are you getting ready for Autumn?
Take care of you,
kats xxx
I'm definitely preparing for the cooler seasons with the clothes in my wardrobe (lots of soft, oversized knits & scarves, beanies + boots to keep me warm) and buying darker lipsticks even though I love to sport a bright red too. Just a heads up, Priceline is having a BOGOF sale for Rimmel starting this Thursday! I will be picking up some of their gorgeous lipsticks and maybe the 1000 Kisses liners (you enabler, ha ha)...oh of course it's at 40% off right now. So tempting!!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, this is a gorgeous LOTD, you did well with the layering - love the vibrancy :)
I hope things settle down work-wise for you so you can get back to blogging more, take care hun xo
Hey doll, just sneaking in a quick reply before I tackle some more pesky work - my goal is to have all this extra stuff I'm doing in a day finished by the Equinox. I have SO MANY lip and eye looks to post, plus some reviews, it's really annoying me that I can't get to them - boo! Gonna try and get to Priceline this weekend to take advantage of the fantastic deal, just hope they have something left on the shelves ha ha... Thanks for your kind words hon, I do so enjoy chatting with you ♥
DeleteOh I love your completed look Kats. The pink paired with that gorgeous gold shimmer is amazing. It looks beautiful and is very Autumny. :-)
ReplyDeleteI do love Autumn but that also means that Winter is on the way. I must say that's the season I dislike most. But as you said in your previous Autumn post cooler weather means boots!!! Now that is something to look forward too :-)
Yeah right with you sugar, chilly winter winds are not my favourite things in the world, but the BOOTS yes - I bought a few pairs at the end of last season and put them away so I'm itching to dig them out, love having new shoes/boots to wear from day one ♥
DeleteI love your lip looks , Kat, but why don't you post your complete "face" made up look ? I love looking at how you co-ordinate everything down to the clothes you are wearing. Just a suggestion :).

Aww thanks Arty - the truth is I have to take SO many pictures of my whole face before I can find one that I deem to be publishable, which makes it a rare event indeed. Having said one of the ones I took today wasn't half bad so I might include that when I post my next Autumn EOTD xxx
DeleteKats, every lipstick you wear looks gorgeous on you! As for matching makeup with the seasons, it never occurs to me to do so. I just wear what I like.
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you to say Petal :-) I wear what I like too, but I'm always grateful for a change of season to give me some additional inspiration xxx
