EOTD: Sugarpill Flamepoint, Hotsy Totsy and Elemental Chaos...

About time I did a multi-hued eye look I'd say, and what better excuse than to see what my new Sugarpill shadows looked like together :-) But hey I did show a little restraint - no Mochi in this little combo, but then I've already shown you how pretty she is. So time to display the other gems I scored recently - Flamepoint (matte orange), Hotsy Totsy (pink sparkle) and Elemental Chaos - a fabulous purple shimmer that I'll put on show on her own a little later in the month, because she deserves a spotlight or two...

I decided to break with tradition, and used Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool as my base, just because it has a frosty, shimmery finish. The three shadows laid down very well over this cream, and were super easy to blend...

On the waterline I went for essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in Coolest Chic - this is actually quite a bold purple that I've used many many times, but I only applied a very thin layer so as to not detract from the rest of the shadows. In the crease and underneath is Maple from the SleekV2 matte palette...

Personally I love using three or more colours in an eye look - makes for a much more interesting end result, and I'm always fascinated to discover what shades work well together. I haven't tried this particular combination before, but I was pleasantly surprised with how it all turned out

REVIEW: Ego QV Face Nurturing Night Cream...

Been saving this one Out of all the Ego QV Face products I've tried from my awesome win, this has the #1 spot on my faves list - it's truly a gorgeous cream. Amazingly light, almost a gel-like consistency (and a pretty good dupe of some of the exxy branded ones), and it lasts forever! Well it's probably a bit soon to talk about forever, but I've been using it every night for five weeks, and there's barely any drop in the level of product in the jar - it's amazingly concentrated, smooths over my skin without any greasy residue, and absorbs within minutes...
My face truly loves the softness it brings with only a tiny dollop, and any dry areas I had are long gone. I've had issues with night creams six times the price (!) congesting my pores, I think because they're just way too rich for my combination skin, even though I'm of mature age - I invariably have to alternate them with something far less intense, and then I get into a pickle because I can't remember from one night to the next which one I used last! So to have only one jar that meets all my moisturising needs is a blessing

It's not an anti-wrinkle anti-ageing cream by any stretch of the imagination, nor does it purport to be, but for just under $20, it gives my complexion all the hydration it needs to recover from whatever I've put it through in a day. When I wake up, there's no oily sheen on my face, nor any tightness or flaky bits - my skin just feels super soft, and exactly how it ought to feel if I'm looking after it...

Like all Ego QV Face products, there's a manufacture and expiry date on the bottom of the box, so stocking up when it's on special is not going to give you any headaches either...

Having tried a wide range of ritzy-ditzy creams with all their fancy ingredients, I'm really quite taken with the refreshing simplicity of Ego QV Face Nurturing Night Cream

EOTD: Sugarpill Mochi...

Meet Sugarpill Mochi, my latest love  Yes yes I know I have a gazillion loves ha ha (and quite a few aqua hued shadows) but this one has been a long time in the lusting-after department (almost 2 years), and she's been so well worth the wait. Such a creamy, dreamy mermaid-esque matte, which doesn't swatch as solidly as the other ones, but with a bit of building over a cream base, she's just so unbelievably gorgeous...

I had almost the whole set of Sugarpill mattes, except for the black (I didn't order this as I have heaps of other ones that are well pigmented) and this little sweetie, and it's taken all this time for me to get my act together to purchase the missing treasure from my kit...
It'll be interesting to see how she goes with essence white kajal as a base, but for this particular look I used NYX Eye/Eyebrow Pencil in the shade Seafoam Green - it's almost a metallic, and perfect under a matte shadow because it stops it being totally flat, and gives it a smidgin of pearly dimension...

After pressing on a couple of layers of Mochi (no fallout yay!), I smoked the outer corner with MUA Matte Midnight, which is a delicious tealy dark blue. On the waterline is essence Longlasting Eye Pencil in the shade Cool Down...

I'm so entranced with this shadow - needs a bit of work with a soft brush to get the intensity I want, but I think you'll agree she's a divine hue

REVIEW: Chi Chi Persimmon EDP...

Lucky last in this set - Chi Chi Persimmon EDP, and a personal favourite of mine. It's actually the only one I've had in my collection for over 12 months, and have been wearing consistently. I reviewed it last July in Part 2 of the Winter Fragrances series - loved it then, and I love it now. Used to be my numero uno of the Chi Chi fruity perfumes, but it's getting some serious competition from the Peach & Mango, which lasts a lot longer. But Persimmon isn't quite as sweet - I'm putting that down to the guava and citrus (grapefruit?) content, which gives it some tartness to balance out the mango and papaya notes...
No idea how they came up with the name of Persimmon though - that particular fruit isn't listed as an ingredient, but there's no peach or mango in the Peach & Mango either lol, and what does it matter hey, so long as you enjoy the end result...

This little delight only lasts a couple of hours on my skin, possibly because it doesn't contain any of the usual staying-power bases like amber or sandalwood, but while it's there, it's fabulous - a veritable feast for the senses, and one I will continue to indulge in once the regular sized bottle runs out, which isn't far away. You'll find my beautyheaven 5-star review of it here
