So here goes with my responses to Lady Sapphire's questions...
What's your favourite way to style your hair?
My hair is super short, but it's very thick and frizzy, unmanageable at times (especially in damp weather) but I always go for straightening it out when I blow dry (to get it as silky and smooth as possible), then put a dab of polish on my fingers and run them through the top and the fringe, for some extra shine and texture. Then I mess it up a bit so it doesn't look too contrived - can't bear that helmet-head look lol...
What's that one movie that you could re-watch over and over again?
Now this was a challenge as I have so many favourites. But I'm going for Stargate because I'm a big sci-fi fan, especially if it involves anything remotely egyptian, and the whole concept just plain fascinates me...
Do you have any pets?? I wanna hear all about them!
There are 2 mature cats in my family. Natasha (10), a white and blue-grey stray moggy from the animal shelter - she's a total sweetheart, very affectionate, and unrecognisable from the crazy half-starved loner we picked up from the pound. And Coco (9), an almost black Bengal-Siamese cross who loves Mummy cuddles, skulking around, and playing "catch the biscuit".
What's on your nails right now? Nothing...what polish is due to be applied next?
I so rarely wear polish on my fingernails (I'm too busy doing eye-makeup looks lol) but my toes are currently sporting Sinful Colors Boogie Nights, and my plan is to try out Orly Opal Hope next...
What's your favourite thing about blogging?
Well it's very early days for me (day 1 in fact!), but so far I'm overwhelmed by the open and welcoming arms of all the gorgeous bloggers in the community - there's such a strong camaraderie, and I'm delighted to be a part of it :-)
Well that was lots of fun! Thank you again Lady Sapphire for including me :-)
Take care of you,
kats xxx
It was so wonderful to read all your answers Kat!! :D
ReplyDeleteI adore the colour of your hair, its such a beautiful red. I'm green with envy really :)The way your style your hair sounds lovely and I wouldn't mind trying it out on myself too.
I'm so happy to read that you're a fan of Egypt. I love the history Ancient Egypt too :) It really was a fascinating time. I've been a fan since about 15. I took classes at school dedicated to Ancient Egypt and scored well at the end of the year. I've got so many books at home hehe
Your kitties are so beautiful :) they look so snuggly and have such gorgeous colours on their coat too.
Your going to be a wonderful blogger Kat. We all knew that before you even started. Congrats again on starting your blog and we all cannot wait to see your future posts x
My dear Gemma, what a honey you are to help get me started! I was wondering what to put up for my second post, and you solved my dilemma :-) No need to be envious of my hair colour - you can buy it in a box, L'Oreal Preference Pure Spice Power, you should go for it! And whaddya know, my fascination with all things egyptian started in the seventh grade, and I too have lots of books about it :-) As for my girls , well I couldn't decide if it was better to have white fur on all my clothes or black, so I went for both ha ha!
DeleteLOL!! I remember really well all the fur precious kitties leave on clothes :) As annoying as it was it would always bring a smile to my face when I'd look down at work and see a piece of kitty hair, lol. It was a reminder to how much I loved them and missed them. Silly I know but they were my babies :) Now I have kids and look down to see a stain on my clothes instead lol.
DeleteYour kitties are oh so cute!! Ancient Egypt indeed is very fascinating!!! I loved reading your answers, darling Kats and can't wait for more posts from you!! xx
ReplyDeleteHi again Ms J! - my goodness this is quite addictive, the cleaning will have to wait lol...
DeleteYour furry companions are so cute, kat!
ReplyDeleteI remember studying a little about Ancient Egypt in school, and did find it so interesting! I quite liked history back then, particularly when we studied the more ancient civilisations :)
Congrats again on your new blog, I'm looking forward to more posts soon!
Tulip my sweet, so happy to read you here - thanks a bunch for your kind words, and wow, I'm delighted there so many other egypt-lovers amongst us beauties :-)
DeleteWOOOOOOOO YAY I'M SO GLAD TO SEE YOU HAVE A BLOG!!!
ReplyDeleteNatasha is adorable :)
Ha ha Sandy, your comment made me smile big time, ta for making my day hon :-) Ah yes Natasha (or Tushie for short) - she's a special one that's for sure. She has the softest fur I've ever come across on a kitty, I can't help but stroke her constantly :-)
Delete:)
DeleteYAY - Thanks so very much for fixing the comment profiles Kats Hun. Just loved this - it is lovely getting to know our favourite people a little better. Great work, Gemma, Lady Sapphire, and Ms Jelena who tagged you.
ReplyDeleteSimply wonderful to look forward to so much variety, knowledge and colour with a Kats blog. Loving it. Love to you and the puss cats.
Trish.
Oh darlin' I couldn't bear it if I couldn't read you here! Thanks for the lurve Trish, and back at you 1000 times over :-)
DeleteGreat answers, Kat! Like you, I've always been extremely interested in Egyptian lore and culture, the female figures were portrayed in such a strong light! I've always been fascinated with Isis (that was my MSN name for the longest time) and Cleopatra (such an inspiring woman for her time)!
ReplyDeleteLove both Natasha and Coco, they are both names I have adored for many years and I'm especially partial to Coco. ;)
We need to get you wearing more polish, stat!
Sweetheart Nalini - thanks for your support treasure:-) I agree entirely, go the gals! As for the polish, gee - can you organise at least 1 more hour in every day please hon? Ha ha...
DeleteLove the kitties!! When I was a teenager I used to wish my name was Natasha, it sounds so glamorous - and of course I have a soft spot for Coco, both for our darling Coconal and the Chanel perfume (David loves Coco perfume, he says it makes me smell like an airport!! Well technically an airport duty free shop, being a pilot he loves airports, LOL!)
ReplyDeleteYay Cat you're back! My heart is skipping a beat to read you hon :-) Natasha sure is a glam name, but maybe not TushieBush (her nickname). We thought she had some Russian Blue in her, hence the name. And smell like an airport? You so make me laugh, love and hugs xxx
DeleteHey Kats,
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see you blogging! I always thought of your daily EOTDs and FOTDs as mini blogs anyway. You've been so busy blogging that I've fallen behind on your posts! I thought I'd comment on this one as I got to see the woman behind the face or eyes :)
I had no idea you love sci-fi! Personally I prefer fantasy but I'm a fan of sci-fi as well. Now I know I'm gonna bug you about it and we can get our geek on :) I love Ancient Egypt too! It's one of the reasons I chose teaching, specifically English and Ancient History :)
This stuid annymous thing reminds me that I need to get a google account. Anyway, I'm gonna stop before I take up all your comments space and by the way, this is my fourth attempt at doing this. My phone kept eating my comments so I'm doing this at a uni comp.
Good luck with all your future blogging!
Sneha (chunky.monkeys)
Hey there chunky monkeys! I've only just spotted your post hon - thanks heaps for commenting, your words have really given me a boost, and your positive wishes are so appreciated Sneha. Bummer you had so much trouble posting, but I'm so glad you persisted! LOVE finding fellow Ancient Egypt & sci-fi fans :-)
