SPOTLIGHT: David Jones Deluxe Sampler Totes...

Good old DJ's - they keep coming out with these Deluxe Sampler Tote bags, and it's a very rare occurrence for me not to indulge. They're always great value, and it's a beaut opportunity to try a whole heap of beauty loot that wouldn't normally cross my path. As usual there's two varieties to choose from, with three products common to each bag. I couldn't decide which one to pick up, so I bought both - there were items in each that caught my eye e.g. the Antipodes Hosanna H20 Skin Plumping Serum, and the MOR Rosa Noir Hand & Body Milk ...

So here's the contents of the first one, easy to spot with the pink writing...

For anyone who's interested, there's quite a few discount cards in both bags, and the candle smells divine so I'm delighted to have two Almost all skin care, but there's a makeup item in each - this one has Blinc Eyeliner which I've never tried before...

And bag #2, with the purple label...

This one has a full sized Natio Day Cream, and Napoleon Perdis Madame Curl Curl Mascara...

And the totes themselves are always a bonus - very sturdy and roomy, with a stud closure at the top, and an inner pocket. I have quite a few of these, but this time around they're quite understated, which I prefer - only the DJ's classic pattern in gold rather than a heritage picture...

The bags are advertised as containing over $130 worth of products (although I haven't done the sums), and are $19.95. You do have to buy something in order to qualify, and here's what I chose - lipsticks of course! These colours will be perfect for the upcoming Autumn - Honey Gold (left) and Terracotta. Love the formula of DJ's lippies - my only beef is that the peel off stickers leave behind a gooey residue which annoyingly collects fluff!
Even the clear plastic zippered bags are handy - almost big enough to hold my makeup for an overnight stay! All up I'm very happy with the contents of both - nice one DJ's

Will you be buying either of these Sampler Totes? If so, which one appeals to you the most?

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  2. The totes themselves look great, unlike the current Priceline tote. I'll be shopping my stash for a while.

Unrelated news: I was at Target today & the rumours are true! Sleek & The Balm are at Target! I thought you'd be interested.

    1. They do them every year hn, sometimes twice. Usually the nailpolish comes in a few different shades, but they were all red in my store ♡

  4. Thanks for sharing these! I have tried the Blinc eyeliner before and it is AMAZING!!! Beautifully wet and easy to apply with it's thin brush. I own a gorgeous colbolt blue in it. :D Coast To Coast is also lovely. I reviewed one of their skincare line's a little while ago and their products are just gorgeous to use. xx

  5. I bought the pink bag last week (first time I've done so) & split it with a BH member I met up with. I mostly bought it for the Antipodes serum & the Lanolips, which I ended up swapping as I was unsure of my lips being able to handle the scent (they get a bit funny from time to time). I'll use the serum once the weather gets cooler methinks.

  6. I can't believe this is the first I've heard of this even existing! I love offers like this! Do they advertise it even? I just did the Priceline Haircare bag so better not but I will keep this on mind and look out for future ones :)

    1. Gosh Di - these bags have been around for many many years. I'm thinking that one of my posts might have actually been useful ha ha! No they don't advertise it - I only know about them because there's a DJ's right next to my dentist, so I go in there every 6 months, otherwise I wouldn't be aware either as there isn't a store near me. In the past there's been quite a bit more makeup and occasionally a fragrance in the bag so keep your eyes peeled for the next one in about 6 months ♥

  7. I bought the pink bag last week, and bought a Natio soy wax candle to qualify. I love collecting DJ sampler totes too!

PS. rubbing alcohol will get rid of the gooey residue from the stickers :) looking forward to some DJ lippie swatches!

    1. Nice one stackcats, and thanks heaps for the alcohol tip - I have a bottle somewhere in my cupboards and will give it a go, can't STAND that sticky stuff ♥

  8. What a great value gift bag with purchase! If you don't have any rubbing alcohol as Stackcat suggested I use eucalyptus oil to get rid of the stick residues left behind by stickers.

    1. Thanks for the reminder Ingrid - I tell you what though, whatever they use for labels is pretty potent as neither the alcohol nor the eucalyptus oil is having much effect. So annoying - I might have to try turps or metho lol ♥
