REVIEW & GIVEAWAY: Nutrimetics Sweet Pea Posy Fragrance Diffuser...

My passion for colour and fragrance is pretty much limitless, so when I find something that combines the two (especially purple!), I'm literally in heaven. So I did a little happy dance when I spotted this Nutrimetics Sweet Pea Posy Fragrance Diffuser.  It's just the most gorgeous home accessory I've seen in a while, smells divine, so practical and clever, AND it's so beautifully presented ...

Most fragrance diffusers use a reed delivery system, but this one has a fabric flower with a wick attached which you sit on/in the open bottle, and the fragrant oil travels up into the petals. They gradually take on the soft violet hue of the liquid, and you're left with a very compact and stunning little posy whose delicate scent permeates the surrounding area ♥ Mine hasn't coloured up yet - takes about 7 days, and I'm so looking forward to the lilac end result. The bottle is heavy and square, so there's barely any risk of it toppling over. It's just the perfect thing to have on your bedside table hey!...

The fragrance is a combination of various flowers - I can't identify anything in particular, but from the name I'm guessing that sweet pea is one of them (lol!), and possibly lilac & violets too. It's a lovely and balanced floral combination, actually one I would dab behind my ears if it was available as an EDP, not fake in any way or overly sweet, and it honestly smells like you have a bunch of spring blooms in the room ♥ RRP is $40, but it's on special at the moment for $30. According to the box, the liquid should last around 4 weeks, but I intend to hang onto the container and fill it with something else (maybe lavender oil?) because I just adore the look of it, plus I don't have to flip any sticks over to maintain the scented radiation...

MOTHER'S DAY GIVEAWAY!

I reckon it's the perfect Mother's Day gift, and so I'm giving one away to one of you lovelies to gift to your precious Mum on her big day (or keep for yourself!) ...

The best beauty advice that My Darling mum ever gave me was that a smile adds instant beauty and it is so very true.
Mum is no longer with us but she smiled right up to the end and always maintained a super positive attitude.

    2. Not so much a tip ... but when I was about 13 my mum took me to a mother-daughter Clarins skincare workshop. It was excellent and obviously now I have someone to blame for my expensive skincare habit!

      1. Definitely a tip Alex - what a wonderful Mum to introduce you to quality skincare at such an early age. A financially challenging act to follow I agree, but so wise ♥

    3. My mum always said to never forget your neck and décolletage, you don’t want a young face and old neck.

Her nickname for me is Sweet Pea so I had to enter!

    4. Looks lovely Kat. I love the idea of the flower as a diffuser, so pretty. I think the best beauty advice my mother ever gave me is moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. I’m not entering your giveaway as all my surfaces are already cluttered. 3 kids & small house = no space.

      1. Thanks Okatko - it's a clever innovation hey, and thanks for commenting, I really appreciate your support ♥ Really appreciate your Mum's tip too - nothing better than to keep the skin hydrated, and all over too! xxx

    5. My mum always drummed into me it didn't matter how tired you were but to always cleanse all your make-up off before bed. You will see the benefits as you age. Thanks Mum :-)

      1. Now that one's a beauty Mandy - oh the pain of my misspent youth, I don't know how I could have done it AND dirtied my pillow too, wouldn't DREAM of it now of course ♥♥♥

    6. This is absolutely adorable. The best (beauty) advice my mother ever gave me was "go to sleep" and "just take a nap, it'll be better after a nap". It could have been a way for her to get me to shut up, but it was a very good point!

      1. Lol TUD, thanks for the giggle, but it's so true - NOTHING is quite as bad after a kip, I treat myself to 40 winks (well 80 actually) on the weekends, just can't convince my boss of the benefits when I'm at work! ♥♥♥

    7. My mum, who was always right, drummed into us girls the importance of looking after our hands and neck because they would be the first things to give away our age.

      1. Yep she was absolutely right Leonie - makeup tricks work wonders on the face, but neck and hands can't be disguised, well I haven't figured out how to do it that's for sure xxx

    8. Oh Grand Universe! This looks amazing Kat =D

The collection looks beautiful. I used apricot lotion and shower creamy wash from Nutrimetics (also their apricot signature scent), it was divine! Scent too. Wonder how these smell....

    9. I've always wanted to try a diffuser - this one looks divine.

Best advice my Mum ever told me is to freeze a spoon in the morning while you shower and then use it to depuff your eyes after showering.

      1. It's really quite lovely Dara - the petals of my flower are starting to taken on the colour now, so pretty! Gosh I like that frozen spoon tip - thanks so much, what a clever Mum. My eyes are puffy whether I'm tired or not, gonna give that one a go ♥

    10. Wow! This fragrance diffuser looks amazing! I’ve only ever seen reed diffusers. This would look gorgeous on any vanity or tabletop!

Best advice Mum ever gave me (in fact she still reminds me) is to stay out of the sun otherwise wear a hat and SPF! Much easier to prevent than trying to get rid of dark spots and pigmentation later!!

      1. Tigerlily how lovely to read you here hon! I'm so glad you posted this tip from your Mum - absolutely VITAL, I've read all over the place that the sun is the #1 MOST skin ageing thing there is. Thank goodness we can now buy 50+ SPF - the formulations were so weak when I was growing up, my Mum used to make me wear a singlet or a t-shirt over my cossie (hated it, but she was wise) ♥♥♥

    11. My mum's tip is "Always wash your face before you sleep " also I inherited her habit/addiction to handcreams. I am always applying handcream and always think of her whenever I do . She is far away therefore it is hard for me to share my beauty loot with her but I wish to get every opportunity to send her some beauty loot.

      1. Oooh yes nightly cleansing is not something to skip, and hand cream is an essential addictions Moonlight, one I certainly share with you. I bet you inherited your beautiful skin from your Mum too - so good of you to send her some of your treasures ♥♥♥

    12. Best tip from my mom is to always moisturise face and body even when you don't feel dry. Chances are, by the time you actually feel dry, your skin will have been very dehydrated! And of course, more dehydration = more fine lines
