REVIEW: Nutrimetics Mineral Clay Masque...

If you've been here before or follow my Instagram account (@katshepsutt), you'll know that I'm pretty mad keen on simple home face treatments - sheet masks in particular for my Sunday treat, and there's usually quite a few descriptions and pics in my Empties posts every month. But I've also been reaping the benefits of a mid-week cream masque - the combination of the two different styles is keeping my complexion fresh, clear and hydrated. Interestingly I haven't reviewed many cream-style masques over the years mainly because I find a pot or tube will last me 12 months or more, and so I don't tend to buy/try many in case they go off or dry up.  My latest discovery though deserves its own page 'cos it's just so darn good - Nutrimetics Mineral Clay Masque with Apricot Extract & Soybean Oil ...

Clay masques are my absolute favourite for deep cleansing & pore refining - there's something about the kaolin and bentonite that draws out the goop from any clogged pores, which always look a bit smaller afterwards (bonus!). I've been using this one religiously every week for around two months, and my complexion is certainly the better for it - more refined, refreshed and becalmed. The cream is a pale caramel colour - far less frightening if you're spotted mid-treatment, and while the consistency is thick and rich, it spreads effortlessly. The scent is very faint, earthy and organic, and there's no added fragrance listed in the ingredients ...

Apart from water, the formula contains kaolin, zinc oxide, bentonite, glycerin, burdock, verbena & apricot extract, and soybean oil - some of these inclusions are known to assist with troubled skin, whether it be dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema or acne, none of which I'm blessed to NOT be dealing with, but I sometimes experience dry patches or flaky areas, all of which have vanished since I started including this baby in my regime ...

Below you can see the density and skin flattering colour of the cream on the left - the pic on the right was taken after 30 minutes, almost completely dry, and you can probably guess why I didn't photograph this on my face lol! After rinsing with a soft cloth and warm water, my skin is ridiculously soft, deeply cleansed, and even more ready to absorb the rest of my skin care products ...

The packaging is the simple and elegant standard presentation from Nutrimetics - a tube with a flip top cap, which I far prefer to a jar for both ease of dispensing, as well as protection from contamination, and reduced chances of the product drying out ...

The tube is 125ml and the RRP is $40 - as with all my Nutrimetics product purchases, I picked this up on special for almost half that. I was so impressed after the first couple of uses, I ordered another one stat, and I'm giving it away to one of you lovelies who'd like to try it ...

    1. I have used face masks for many years. When I was a teenager (amazed I can remember that far back...LOL) I used to love the Avon peel off masks. I now use a mix of the sheet masks and various other types of masks. One that Ive been using is the Shea moisture...omg...smells divine.

      1. Sounds like we're following a similar regime Fawn - I've only gotten into regular masking in the last few years, and the difference it's made to my skin is remarkable. Should have started a LONG time ago like you did ♥

      2. My Mum worked in a pharmacy and she was not really into makeup and would stick with her Olay or Nivea for her skincare so when the reps would give her freebies they all came to me. Then one of my cousins started selling Avon so to help her out I would buy something off her each campaign....hence the peel off masks becoming something I really loved back then.

    2. My skin loves anything with kaolin in it - zinc too. Sounds like a great pore minimiser.
