March 2021 Empties & Giveaway!...

Before I get started on the March Empties, I thought to let you know that my work life is still impacting my personal world in a major way - I was kinda hoping that after 31st March the pressure would ease a little, but I'm still waiting for that to happen lol! It's a bummer as I have lots to share with you as well as on Instagram, but after long and stressful days, I have very little time or energy left to put it all together. But I know how much you enjoy the Empties and I'm up to my neck in throwaway containers (!), so instead of colouring my hair (whoops), here we go...

Body

Glow Lab Blackberry & Bay Body Wash (400ml, RRP $9)
I do so enjoy these Glow Lab body washes. When I first bought this one I tagged the scent as winter appropriate but it was so enticing I couldn't wait, so I washed my bod with it over the summer. It's crisp and spicy rather than fruity, although it has heaps of citrus essential oils, and they're balanced with floral & herbal extracts. Quite distinctive and one I'll continue to enjoy in the cold weather, but I'll add a few extra drops of shower oil to boost the moisture content ...
Repurchase?
Yes indeed ...

White Glo Professional Choice Extra Strength Whitening Toothpaste
 (100ml, RRP $5.99)
Ever so slightly different taste to the others, but the same level of whitening power on my old choppers. It's good to know it doesn't matter which one from the range I buy - they're all as good as each other ...

For sure ...

Colgate Plax Alcohol Free Gentle Mint Mouth Wash (500ml, RRP $6.49)

Swisspers Makeup Pads (Pack of 80, RRP $3.99)
White Glo Toothbrush (free with the above toothpaste)

Face

Breeze Balm Lip Balm - Birthday Bash (15g, RRP $19.95)

I'm crazy about these balms - far superior to anything else that's crossed my lips over the years. Not so keen on this "flavour" though - supposed to be pink lemonade, but it just smells super sweet to me. Same fabulously enriching formula though, and the good news is they've made the hole slightly bigger so it's an easier squeeze in the cold weather ...

Not this one, but I'm hooked on the watermelon & pineapple variety ...

Fragrance

Vera Wang Lovestruck EDP (100ml, $89)
Well now, this fragrance is proof that if you keep your perfumes in a cool dark space, they last a long time. Bought this in 2015 and it was almost perfect until the last half dozen spritzes. I reviewed it at the time and I still feel the same way about it, click the name above to go there direct ...

Benefit Precisely, My Brow Pencil - Grey (RRP $45)

I bought this in a fit of desperation during a relatively fruitless search for a grey eyebrow pencil (to match my hair) - in hindsight the price was ridiculous. Yeah, sure it was good quality, but too dark and stark for what I'm after, which is a  light to medium grey that I can build up ...

Not unless I'm totally desperate again ...

ModelsPrefer Contour/Collection - Ultimate Higlighting + Contouring Palette ($16.99)
My local Priceline has stopped stocking this, but it seems to still be available online - thank goodness as it's the best colour scheme for my complexion (which means not orange!). Mind you I only use four of the six pans, but by mixing them together I can create a blend that suits me to a tee and doesn't look weird. Great price too. Powders are fine for my cheeks and jawline, but they seem to exaggerate the craterous pores on my nose, but I can smudge the cream ones so they're effective but not obvious. So hard to find cream contour kits! ...
Repurchase?
Definitely, online ...

Revlon Colorstay Life-Proof Matte Foundation Stick - 180 Sand Beige (RRP $25.95)
Ahh, Revlon - you were one of my first loves, and you're still delivering the goodies. My current numero uno foundation. This is the one I wear to the office or for special occasions. PERFECT colour match to my skin, blends to a perfect finish, lasts ALL DAY, doesn't transfer, SPF 27, slight sheen finish - it doesn't get much better than this ...

      1. Keep up the dedication Fawn - such a buzz when I get to the last spritz as it's such a rare event, but well worth the stoicism lol. And I know what you mean about poking around in the refuse - the big difference is I'm putting it all on display, so not all that weird ha ha! ♥

      1. Hi SAE - pretty good today thanks my dear, hope it's the same for you. Ooh yes - Breeze Balm. I've recommended quite a few balms over the years, but they are all trailing behind what this brand produces, they're SO good ♥

    4. I wish things were a little more relaxed for you. It’s selfish but I’d love it if you could blog and Instagram as your job! Everything looks wonderful as always. I’m interested in seeing/ trying the heart hilighter. The shades on the eye shadow look great for Autumn.

    5. Yes, we do love your empties posts, but I'm sorry that you've had to put off doing your hair so you could post it for us, Kats. I hope the pressure eases up soon.

Those eyeshadow palettes & the highlighter look gorgeous!

Btw, how many uses do you get out of those Ecopure Face Cloths?

      1. I’m interested in how many uses you get from the bamboo cloths too.

      2. The hair postponement was a good choice misfortune8 - I need to stop being so paranoid about my white roots. What's another week hey, and I did it this afternoon :-) The face cloths last for ages - around 6 months before they start to fray, and that's with throwing them in the wash every week. I recently replaced them after a few months because the cleanser I was using didn't emulsify my makeup (since ditched that one) and the cloths were horribly stained, so I started a fresh pack. But usually 1 pack of 2 cloths will last me a year ♥

      3. That's pretty good then - thanks for the feedback, Kats!

      1. Hi MGR - can't survive without the pink grapefruit wash. I'm about to switch to my cold weather balm, but I found the scrub with the same scent, so that will get me through the winter. Honestly, I'm addicted to this fragrance! ♥

      1. Hello Claudia - thanks for stopping by. I love peeking too - I'm interested in what folks actually use, especially on a regular basis. The wipes have been part of my routine for absolutely yonks - I use them to clean my brushes as well! And the Schmidt's is the most effective aluminium-free deo that I've found so far ♥

      1. Thank you Raluca - that's a lovely thought, and I reckon I just need to switch off at a suitable time, and wipe the list that's in my head. Whatever I can't get done today will have to wait till tomorrow, or something like that anyway ♥
