EOTDs: Catch up time!...

Didn't get around to uploading any EOTD's last month, but I have a pretty big stash put aside, and in various colours of the rainbow. So without further ado...

Was quite chuffed with how this turned out - I normally apply the lightest shadow shade on the inner corner of my eye, but decided this time to pat down the darker blue (from the Annabelle Haute Mer quad) on both ends, with MBA Cosmetics Silk FX Babybaby in the middle and underneath. I thought it would make my eyes look smaller, but I actually love the extra definition. Waterline was Eye of Horus Scarab Sapphire Goddess Pencil...

For my face I used Mirenesse Liquid Silk Foundation, Ulta3 Pretty Plum Blush, and Face of Australia Lip Quench lipstick in Ruby Delight (added bonus of SPF30)...

My pastel blue jewellery collection is the smallest of the lot, but I'll work on it this Spring lol...

A very special friend sent me a whole stack of her Colourpop eye shadows (eternally grateful hon ♥) - this is Tink (matte charcoal) & Liberty (the most fabulous metallic silver in my kit!)...

These shadows are amazing - the pigmentation and buttery texture is almost impossible to beat, and they blend with just a few strokes of a fluffy brush. Waterline is Eye of Horus Charcoal Obsidian Goddess Pencil... 

Mirenesse Liquid Silk foundation again (trying to actually finish a foundation - who me?), cheeks were Real Purity Frosted Orchid Powder Blush, and lips were Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Lust For Blush...

Dug through my retro jewellery box and was thrilled to find the acrylic "humbug" striped ring, and some earrings and a bracelet that I made over 10 years ago - confirmed my suspicion that I should never throw anything out lol...

For this look I decided to use ONLY Eye of Horus Goddess Pencils - Emerald Tabula & Scarab Sapphire. All these pencils are beautiful on their own, but I usually don't have enough time in the morning to let them set completely, and invariably cover them up with a matching shadow so the cream doesn't transfer to my hoods...

The green is such a good match for my eye colour, and the smudger on the end is excellent for blending before they dry...

Same foundation, cheeks were Laura Geller Blush 'n' Brighten in Berry, and that stunning red lippy is Rimmel The Only 1 Lipstick in One-Of-A-Kind...

Was lucky enough to find the matching emerald crystal earrings at Lovisa for a ridiculously low price...

And this last look is from way back in June, but too spesh to neglect - Too Faced Chocolate Bar Black Forest Truffle, with a dusting of Champagne Truffle over the top...

Still in awe of how much I'm loving browns and taupes and caramels! All to do with my lighter hair colour I reckon. Eye of Horus Bronze Amulet Goddess Pencil on the waterline...

And a massive thank you shout-out to neurotichellfem for the change-it-yourself battery tip. This watch has been languishing in a box for months, but I managed to get it working again for less than $2. I also replaced the batteries in three other watches - hon, you've just saved me a FORTUNE! ♥♥♥

REVIEW & EOTD: City Color Intense Shine Palette, White & Charcoal...

Another gorgeous palette I ordered in the depths of June to keep me focused on the promise of Spring ♥ Bought this City Color Intense Shine set from MBA Cosmetics for the bargain basement price of US$10, and it's a beauty. These shadows are creamy and super shimmery - all metallic foils, they glimmer and gleam when they catch the light, are deliciously pigmented, fallout is minimal, and they blend effortlessly...

Swatched these on my leg over a face primer, and three finger swipes is all it took to reveal their beauty. I was drawn to this palette because of the unusual mix of colours, in particular those reddish pinks which are unique in my collection...

For my first EOTD from this box of goodies, (surprisingly) I chose the white and the charcoal, the two pans at the beginning of each row. My base was white and black Chi Chi Waterproof Gel Liners - Like a Virgin and Black is Black, starting with the white closest to my lashes, and the black on the back half of the lid...

I then pressed the eye shadows onto the respective liner, and blended them together, also taking the charcoal underneath the lower lash line. The same black liner went ion the waterline...

As you can see I was wearing black and white on this particular day, hence the choice of monochrome shadows. Facewise I'm wearing my HG foundation, Mirenesse Velvet Maxi Lift Surpreme 18 Hour, cheeks are a base of Maybelline Master Glaze Stick in Make a Mauve, with a light dusting of essence Blush Up in Pinky Flow.  Lips are Revlon Superlustrous Lipstick in Liptember Mauve, glossed over with Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in Rose Quartz...

Thrilled to bits with this palette - it's far superior to the L.A.Girl Neons palette I reviewed earlier in the month, mainly because the pigments are considerably more intense, and the powder formula is so soft and buttery. More looks in the pipeline!

EOTD: MUA Charcoal, Sugarpill Love+ and Midori...

Yep - I reckon the countdown to Spring is definitely on. I spent the weekend dusting off all the pretty pastel palettes in my kit so that I'm ready to burst into a series of blossom inspired looks as soon as Winter is officially over - can't happen soon enough for this warm weather and sunshine-loving gal! Meanwhile, I have a couple of chilly season EOTD's to post before September hits, so here we go...

I've mentioned before that red and green always remind me of Christmas, and this look would defninitely have fallen into that particular category if I'd used something sparkly. But by sticking to broody mattes, I'm kinda hoping I didn't awaken Santa from his slumber just yet...

So why did I choose red and green? Well believe me it's always a challenge to get my act together at 5am, but I organise myself pretty well the night before, choosing what I'll wear, and more importantly, what sort of eye look I'll create. Actually it's the ONLY way I can cope! So the theme for this particular day was red and black, but it ended up looking kinda dreary (even with the pop of red), and the green was a hastily added extra before I raced out the door - actually, green is often a colour I throw in at the last minute to inject a bit of life into something that would otherwise be too dull...

My base was essence white kajal because I wanted to keep the Sugarpill Love+ red distinct from the bhcosmetics black liner I used for tight-lining. The charcoal is from the MUA LUXE Pretty Edgy palette, and the green along the lower lashline is Sugarpill Midori blended with MNY Master Precise Liquid Liner. On the waterline is essence I Have a Green yet again! Interestingly I've had this liner in my kit for months, and only just begun exploring it's beauty in the last few weeks ♥

So what's your verdict gals - is this beginning to look too much like Christmas?
