Well, I think you can see from the picture what I've been working on the most during the last month of isolation lol - yes the old eye bags are starting to get the better of me so I've upped the frequency of the overnight eye patches to see if I can slow down the deterioration. They are helping quite a bit with the puffiness, and with the recent half-price sales of the Skin Republic range at Woolies & Coles, I think I can maintain the treatment for another month to see if a daily application is worth the expense. As for the rest of the May Empties, there are quite a few new discoveries in this bunch, although it's just my luck that some have been discontinued. All the same, here we go ...

Method Pink Grapefruit Naturally Derived Hand Wash - (354ml, RRP $5)

Fell in love with the colour and the scent of this hand wash - I SO have a thing about pink grapefruit, and this mix also includes blood orange and cassis. A truly lovely product that's gentle on the skin and looks so pretty on the vanity. Triclosan-free, biodegradable and not tested on animals, it has only one little flaw - the container becomes unstable once you get down to the last few centimetres ♥♥♥...

Not yet - I may just buy the refill pouch and refill another less wobbly container ♥♥♥...

SheaMoisture Manuka Honey & Mafura Oil Intensive Hydration Body Wash - (384ml, RRP $10)

This came with one of my regular Shea Moisture orders - they had a deal at the checkout where I was able to select a free product, and this was what I went for. So glad I did because it's brilliant, and I've since ordered another. It's one of their Limited Editions, but one I hope will be available for a while. Super enriching, it's perfect for dry winter skin, and also contains African Rock Fig & Baobab Oil. Has a deliciously sweet honey-ish scent with a hint of fig, yum! ♥♥♥...

This partly used sample bottle has been on my bench for almost 3 years - embarrassing, and I didn't realise it had been that long until I looked it up on my blog to find out where it came from. It was the March 2017 edition of the Good Green Box, a subscription service that sadly is no more. Smells so incredibly DIVINE, I'm at a loss as to why I started using it and then stopped. But kudos to this brand as the product is just as delicious and stable, even after all this time, and leaves my skin feeling fabulously soothed, radiant and replenished. It's formulated especially for oily/combo skin - lightweight, and it absorbs magically. This is really something special ♥♥♥...

Neutrogena HydroBoost Night Concentrate  (50g, RRP $26.99)

Bought this to try as I love the sheet masks in this range. Not so fussed on this - it was fine for the summer, but I didn't find it anywhere near moisturising enough for these cooler months. So pretty to look at though and it smells, hmmm, ok - it has little blue beads suspended in the gel, but I found they didn't always dissolve and stayed on my skin surface, which was a tad annoying. I think in general I'm not a fan of these new gel moisturisers - I don't like the sticky feeling they leave behind, I prefer the slip & slide of a standard formula ♥...

Neutrogena HydroBoost Water Gel Cleanser  (145ml, RRP $15.99)

I've actually had this on the bench for over a year but didn't finish it off till now as I was so enamoured with their Pink Grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash throughout the hot season. Doesn't take up much space on the bench, nice fresh scent, highly effective on waterproof makeup, but didn't notice any benefit in the hydration department ♥♥...

Nivea 3-in-1 Urban Skin Detox Clay Wash  (150ml, RRP $9.99)

Love this - used it as a scrub as I also have the separate 1 Minute Mask in the same range. Green tea, black rice & kaolin clay - a great combo for my skin, gentle enough to use every day as the consistency is more like a polish, and I would except I get bored using the same thing too often. Leaves my face feeling soft and smooth, adore the clean fresh fragrance ♥♥♥...

Olay Regenerist Whip UV Cream SPF 30  (50g, RRP $48.99)

My new #1 day-cream - I've always loved the Regenerist range, and I'm thrilled that they've introduced this Whip version with SPF 30. Used this all throughout the summer without any greasies emerging during the day. The scent is so lovely - fresh & invigorating and a pleasure to experience every time. Kicking myself a bit as I bought this and the Luminous one during the same bargain sale, so I need to use up that one next, but it doesn't have the same scent although it's supposed to minimise pores. Either way, I'm pretty impressed with Olay, just wish their jars were recyclable ♥♥♥...

This came my way via the beautyheaven Natural Beauty Event late last year - gave it 5 gold stars, and having finished the jar, still feel it deserves each and every one of them. My first experience with an enzyme mask - interesting green jelly with an unusual but pleasant botanical fragrance, and even more interesting stinging sensation when applied, though not to the point of being uncomfortable. I was expecting my face to be a slightly irritated pink when I washed off the cream, but it just looked more glowy and healthy than usual ♥♥♥...

At last I've found a silvery grey hair colour that doesn't contain any yellow and doesn't fade to reveal golden highlights. It's been quite a struggle but I found this on the MyHairCare&Beauty website - one of those places that sell salon products. It costs twice as much as supermarket hair colour but when I want something really bad, I'll pay for it. This demi I used with 30 vol developer and it barely faded in 6 weeks - amazing! The only problem is it doesn't cover my white hair all that well so I'll be buying the permanent one next time ♥♥♥...

I have to stop buying foundation when it's on sale, and when I already have a stack to use up. This one was under $10 from the Australis website, and by the time I opened it and discovered how brilliant it was, there were none left because, again, it's been discontinued. The most amazing full coverage foundation stick that was a perfect skin tone match, didn't cake or crease, and it had SPF30. Why oh why did Australis stop making it? I even used a brush to poke down into the wind-up tube to get the last of it out. Sob! ♥♥♥...

I found this stuck down the back of one of my stash drawers - I think it's been there for a few years as I don't remember buying it, and the range has been discontinued. This is the problem when you have too many stash drawers! But I DO remember that I loved it, and considering it was unopened I decided to use it up. So glad I did because this is the perfect shade for me, and I love the formula - excellent coverage without looking gluggy or mask-like. Over the years I've been enamoured with just about any MNY foundation that has "Dream" in the name (and there's been quite a few) and this was no exception. Currently using their Dream Urban Cover foundation, so the love affair continues ♥♥♥...

This was on special from somewhere, but it's still available lol! Almost the same mousse formula/texture/finish as my fave DB Cosmetics one. Fills in the gigantic pores on my nose and an overall terrific mattifying primer. Creates a silky smooth base for foundation, and I apply it on the days I don't wear any makeup as it cuts the shine and makes my skin look better than it is ♥♥♥...

SPOTLIGHT: Favourite December 2019 LOTD's...

Something for everyone here in these December faves, although silly me created this collage before I posted my ho ho ho Christmas red lippie, so I'll include it in the January collection. That'll teach me to prepare too far in advance lol ♥...

1.  Revlon Super Lustrous - Naughty Plum. I don't seem to have included this one before - no idea why 'cos it's absolutely gorgeous hey. I think it's just that I have too many in my kit, so a few are bound to miss out. Anyways I'm thrilled this one has made the spotlight at last - these Revlon lippies are literally unbeatable for performance, pigment and comfort factor ♥...

2.  Maybelline Made For All - Pink For Me. Adore - full review of this whole range HERE ♥...

3.  Covergirl Katy Kat Matte - Catoure. Lost count of how many times this darling has appeared - one of my fave nude-with-benefits of all time. Full review of some of the range HERE ♥...

4.  BYS - Dangerous Diva. Another one that has emerged from the shadows, she's such an interesting one with her slightly pearlised finish, and very comfortable to wear. BYS make some terrific and amazingly affordable products ♥...

5.  NYX High Voltage - Free Spirit. Such a pity this range was discontinued - orange lipsticks that aren't patchy and streaky are a rare find. This is old but I won't be tossing it any time soon - the colour is so fab, so summery ♥...

6.  BOE Beauty Matte - Primped. This $2 lippie is exceptional value. Had this one a long long time and it still has the same colour and smell, and it doesn't dry out my pout. $2! ♥...

7.  Nude by Nature Moisture Shine - Garnet. At least two previous appearances, this lipstick is so creamy and so full of goodness it's a wonder I don't wear it every week. Such a flattering bricky red, and of course the rose gold packaging is stunning ♥...

8.  Nutrimetics NC Hydra Brilliance - Garnet. Not sure why but I have a tendency to wear multiple "garnets" in the same month! Always fascinates me how different the interpretations are by various brands. This to me is true garnet - a deep pinky red that's wearable with just about anything, and I love how soft this leaves my lips ♥...

9.  NARS - Audacious. I'm still in two minds as to whether to classify this as a pinky red, or a reddish pink. Either way, I should trot it out heaps more often as it's simply divine n'est-ce pas? The black case makes it hard to spot in the collection, so I've moved it into the "revisit regularly" section I've created for forgotten gems such as this ♥...

10.  Maybelline Made For All - Fuchsia For Me.  Definitely made for me - talk about a success story for MNY, still waiting for an orange and a purple, please ♥... 

11.  NYX Cosmic Metals Lip Cream - Fuchsia Fusion. The last hurrah for this irreplaceable stunner. Nothing else in my kit that can match it and I've had to let it go after using the last molecule for this outing. I still have a couple of purples, a bronze and an orange from the (discontinued) range, but my heart aches for this gorgeous galactic gal ♥♥♥...

12.  Rimmel The Only 1 Matte - Run The Show. Such a pretty purple - the ones like this with more pink than blue definitely suit me better. And this formula is one of the few matte ones that I can wear all day and not get flakey lips ♥...

SPOTLIGHT: Favourite October 2019 LOTD's...

Whoops, December kinda snuck up on me - this post was supposed to go up last week (when it was still November), but the lure of becoming Christmas-ready was too great, and I succumbed. While I'm bummed if I don't manage to upload something every weekend, right now I'm feeling pretty satisfied with myself for finishing off the pressie shopping, and just this afternoon I found a home for the last string of solar lights in the garden. As for the lipstick collection, I'm STILL culling, and boy doesn't it feel good ♥...

1. BYS - The Golden Ticket.  No tube included in the pic because it's looking too battered and worn, but the lipstick itself is still in great shape after at least 2 years. This one turns out different every time I wear it depending on the shade of lipliner I use underneath, and it also goes so well over the top of anything else if I want to add a bit of golden lustre into the mix ♥...

2. Revlon Super Lustrous Matte - Gold Goddess.  Ditto this one although it's relatively young in comparison. More of an orangey gold though and doesn't look half bad on its own, just a bit pale for me so a reasonably pigmented liner is a must. Of course, it has the same usual Revlon formula which is moist and lush ♥...

3. Revlon Super Lustrous Pearl - Sandstorm.  Every time I trot this out I think it will be the last time, but it never turns out that way - just as creamy and shimmery as it was the day it joined the team, which is years ago. Sadly not included in the shade range any more ♥... 

4. Maybelline ColorSensational Made For All - Mauve For Me.  Yes again! Can't not wear this at least once or twice in a month - goes with just about anything, still hanging out for more in this range, like orange or purple, please ♥...

5. Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color - Watermelon. Stunningly vibrant coral shade, one of the most comfortable lipsticks I've ever come across, gorgeous packaging, need more ♥...

6. Maybelline Colordrama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil - In With Coral. Not quite as bold as the previous BB one, but we're talking under $10 instead of $46, so I can have four of these lol! The best lip crayon around for comfort. colour range and price ♥...

7. NYC Lipstick - Ruby. She's just so pretty and soft - I have three from this brand and they're all lovely, moist and last well ♥...

8. Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid - Rebel Red.  MNY lip products seem to have a very long life - this is three years old, and not showing any signs of throwing in the towel. It's not matte, but that's one of the many reasons I love it, and it's just so sassy ♥...

9. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick - Sloane's Plum. Who said darker lipsticks are for the cooler months? Not me, although I do tend to wear brighter and lighter shades as the temperature climbs. Still, this one has enough colour oomph to look fab with anything, except maybe red or orange, so I'm not packing it away ♥...

10. NYX Intense Butter Gloss - Spice Cake. This one appears regularly here, and why not - it's simply divine, and truly one of my all-time favourite shades ♥...

11. Ulta3 Lipstick - Lilac Glow. Well hello my pretty. Is this peony pink? I think so, and I really MUST pluck this out more often. For $4.95, you can't go wrong with this range, especially with 17 colours to choose from ♥...

12. L'Oreal Color Riche Balmain - Freedom. Last outing for this one. To-die-for purple, but the formula is one of the biggest disappointments I've had in lipstick-land. Totally sucks the juice out of my lips, and it goes on patchy. The presentation is stunning but sadly the contents don't match. So glad I only bought one ♥...

July 2019 Empties & Giveaway!...

Well, it's official - I'm high maintenance! I was looking back through my old Empties posts and found the first one I uploaded (in November 2015 HERE), and while it wasn't too shabby an effort, these days I require almost double the products to get me through a month, and I don't see the situation improving any time soon. In fact, it's likely to get worse - as I age it takes more and more effort (and stuff) to keep me looking reasonably well-groomed, so I guess the beauty industry will stay afloat for a while longer lol ♥...

Mmmm loved this hand wash, actually I'm quite taken with this brand, and have bought several other flavours, as well as their body wash. Fabulously comforting fragrance (anything with amber gets me in every time), no sulphates, cruelty-free, can buy it at Woolworths and doesn't dry my skin. NZ is really churning out some great skincare ♥♥♥...

L'Occitane Intensive Hand Balm (150ml, RRP $47)

Holey guacemoley, this is the biggest, fattest most long-lasting tube of hand cream I've ever come across! Gifted by beautyheaven ages ago, I've been looking at it in my drawer for yonks, not wanting to make a dent in it. It's the most enriching hand cream, smells delish, and it worked wonders on my old skin. My only beef is with the packaging - why oh why do L'Occitane keep using metal for their tubes? The cap is so tiny that it won't stand up on my bedside table plus the lid is so fiddly to screw back on, and from the first use, the tube looks crap - battered and worn, and halfway through it started splitting at the sides. Boo!...

Not unless it comes in a travel size, or they change the packaging to plastic...

White Glo Charcoal Deep Stain Remover Whitening Mouthwash (500ml, RRP $6.99)

Tastes the same as the Total Mouth Detox one, and didn't notice any difference in the whiteness of my teeth - I don't have any deep stains to remove, but I was curious to try it ♥♥...

L'Oreal Clinically Proven Lash Serum (2ml, RRP $29.95)

Can you believe it I've stopped buying RapidLash after 5 years - either my lashes are used to it, they changed the formula, or I'm buying fakes, but anyway it's not working any more. And because I no longer photograph my eyes, I figured I can survive with what nature gave me. But given I apply three coats of waterproof mascara almost every day, I wanted to show my lashes a little bit of love, and this works a treat. Keeps them supple and I've not had any breakages since I've been using it ♥♥♥...

Mirenesse Fast Fix Solutions Chin Tuck (40g, RRP $79) 

This is one that had been lying idle in my drawer for over a year. It did nothing for my saggy neck or double chin but it came in a VIP pack so at least I didn't waste $80 on it. It feels lovely when applied, and there's a steel roller built into the tube, but I think my under-chin is just too far gone ha ha!...

It's the best way I've found - the brushes don't get wet and they never shed ♥♥♥...

Recommended by dear Fawn - thanks treasure! Absolutely LOVE this eye cream, in fact I think it's my latest contender for the HG title. Very calming, cooling and soothing, I noticed the fine wrinkles under my eyes disappeared in the first few days - let's hope it works as well on the crevasses! ♥♥♥...

SheaMoisture African Black Soap Clarifying Facial Wash & Scrub (118ml, RRP $29.99)

I'm a massive fan of this brand. This is a lovely and gentle scrub that's full of goodness, enriching and doesn't irritate my skin. It's very runny though, and that's why it's not my #1 - if I'm not careful it slips through my fingers and quite a bit is wasted. Love the milk lolly scent, just wish it was firmer ♥♥♥...

Skin Nutrient Goat's Milk Magic Touch Moisturiser (50g, RRP $35.95)

Another gift from a bh event. I had high hopes for this as it seemed to be sufficiently moisturising for my dry winter skin, but alas no. It would be fine for summer, but to be honest, it's just too weird. A gel with tiny white flecks (milk solids?) that are a little gritty and sometimes dissolve, but not always. For that reason, I would only use it at night. Nice fresh fragrance though and I like that they've attempted something a bit different with their packaging ♥...

Swisspers Make-up Pads (Pack of 80, RRP $3.79)

Another pack that should have appeared regularly before, but will again. I go through probably three per night when I double cleanse with micellar water. I also spray my perfume onto one and tuck it between my boobs - my bras were becoming stained from my everyday spritz, but this does the trick, keeps everything clean, and the scent lasts all day. These are the ONLY makeup pads I buy - they don't disintegrate and yet they're baby soft ♥♥♥...

Trilogy Rosehip  Transformation  Cleansing Oil (110ml, RRP $28.95) 

Another one from beautyheaven - yes they continue to be one of my main sources of new products! A gorgeous oil cleanser that smells divine and takes off all my makeup. I've never been into oil cleansers, and I'm still not as I prefer a balm in winter, but this is truly a lovely product. Liquid oils are just too messy for me and I don't like that they drip into the basin, which is why I prefer a solid balm ♥♥...

Oh boy, my current job is so intense it has impacted my weekday nights (10-12 hour days) as well as my weekends, and this was my only sheet mask in July. I'm so glad it was a beauty - it's a one-piece with cheek splits,  one of the best face-fits ever, supremely hydrating and I could literally feel my skin soaking up the moisture. Definitely a keeper! ♥♥♥...

Was keen to try this to compare it to Milky Foot (which I reviewed in my one and only YouTube video HERE).  My verdict? It's not as effective as Milky Foot, but hey, it's half the price. As you can see above it certainly peeled a fair bit of the yucky skin off my feet after a week, and there was no discomfort whatsoever, but it was all in the form of tiny flakes and the corns on my little toes are still there. Fine if you don't have much work to do on your feet, but for my money, I'd rather pay the extra for Milky Foot and only have to do it once per year ♥...

Absolutely LOVE this palette! Mind you I only used up two pans (the champagne gold and the bronze) but well worth it. The perfect amount of shimmer for my needs. The champagne goes down the centre of my nose and across my cupid's bow, and I've even been daring enough to use a kabuki brush dusted with a combo of the gold and bronze all over my face for a teeny bit of glow - unheard of for me lol! ♥♥♥...

I waited almost a year to purchase this, and I wasn't disappointed from a coverage perspective. It's too pale for me to use on its own, but it's impossible to see any imperfections once it's applied. I do love this brand, but I loathe the fact that everything I want is almost always out of stock - it's a total joy-killer for me ♥...

I doubt it - very expensive for the tiny amount I use, and sadly it dried up in the pot before I could finish it ♥...
