EOTD: Essence Lavender & Blue...

Last day of Spring, and probably my last pastel EOTD for a while. Thought I'd finish the season with a pretty lavender and blue creation using all essence products - their Colour & Shine eye shadows in Wear It! (lavender) and Blue Moon. They've been in my kit for years, but they're still magically blendable and I still love them to bits...

Base was essence white kajal, and I applied the lavender shade along the top and lower lashlines, blue on the rest...

On the waterline is essence Long Lasting Eye Pencil in the shade Coolest Chic...

Lips are Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Mauve, topped with Lacura Minerals Lip Gloss in Rose. Cheeks are MUA powder blusher in Shade 6...

EOTD: W7 Shades of Mauves...

Well now what would Spring be without a pastel purple EOTD? I dug really deep into my palettes drawer to find this old favourite - W7 Silky Smooth Quad Eye Shadow - Shades of Mauve. This must be at least 3 years old, and yet the pigments are still as beautiful as they day I bought it, for about $6 at a discount chemist...

It's not listed on their website so it's obviously not made any more, but I've seen it at Chemist Warehouse in the last few weeks, so if you're lucky you'll be able to pick it up. Total bargain - the colours are just so fabulously complimentary, and the sparkle content is subtle yet provides a very pretty multi-dimensional finish...

For the base I used Face of Australia Budge Proof Gel Eyeliner in Pure Purple. I do love to use this cream as it takes a bit longer to dry than say the MNY Tattoos, and that gives me more time to apply the pigments over the top before it sets...

This was one of those rare times when I used ALL shadows from the one palette, starting with the white on the inner corner, then the pink, followed by the pale lavender, and I finished on the outer corner with the bold purple...

In the crease and underneath the lower lashline, I blended Highness from the Sleek V2 Matte palette, and of course, essence white kajal on the waterline...

On the lips I used Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Violet Frenzy, and topped it with Mirenesse 3D Forever Gloss in the shade Tease...

And for my cheeks, I used MUA blusher in Shade 6...

What's your favourite shade for Spring eyes?

EOTD: MUA Lavenders - for Gemma...

Last Monday my darling friend Gemma from Lady Sapphire Blog created a gorgeous sparkly purple mani, with a special shout out to me - so here's my shout back to this very special sweetheart of the blogging world

So now, don't you just LOVE a purply eyeshadow that has some sparkles in it? I've been wanting to create another look with these MUA shadows for months, and finally made it happen...

I have a number of MUA individual shadows in my collection, and there's not a single dud amongst them. These two are from the Fashionista range which doesn't seem to be available any more, however I've no doubt they'll come up with something equally brilliant to replace them in the not too distant future. The one on the left is called Embellished (it's the one that contains the sparkles) and on the right is Bewitched...

My camera makes them appear almost grey, but in real life they were just as pinky/purple as they look in the pics above. I wanted something light and airy, so I used essence white kajal as my base, applied the deeper shade all over the back of the lid, and used the lighter glittery one close to my lashes and underneath.

I also dampened the brush a little before picking up the powder to bring out the shine and multi-hued components of this ever so pretty shadow. Keeping the moistened application close to my lash line avoids transfer to my hoods when I'm in a hurry, and don't have time to wait till it dries...

I used the same essence white kajal on my water line this time around - been playing around with black and brown liners lately, but this soft glisteny look needed the lift that only white can bring...

EOTD: Lavender and Aquamarine...

Here's a cheery splash of color to get over the midweek hump. Some hues just seem to resonate together, and lavender and aquamarine are one such pally pair.

My base was MNY Tattoo in Painted Purple. I haven't used this in a while because I find it quite sheer, but for this particular pastelly purple it was perfect (gosh so many 'p's lol).

Over that on the inner half went a sparkly lavender from the BYS Diamond Shadow Miami Beats palette. There are quite a number of pretty softer shades in this pack, I really should pull it out more often than I do. This range is so cheap and readily available at K-Mart and Gloss - the pigmentation potency isn't always prevalent across all pans (oops more 'p's), but on the whole I find them great value.

On the outer half is one of my true loves, and a regular on my blog - essence Metal Glam in Jewel Up The Ocean. I swear it's so buttery you could spread it on toast! Well maybe not lol...

Love how the join between the two colors came out turquoise :-) I blended both shades over the MNY liner along the lower lashline (left and right accordingly), and the final touch was a faint smear of NYX Eye/Brow Pencil in Seafoam Green on the waterline...

Have you ever had a lavender/aqua moment?
