EOTD: bhcosmetics Magenta and Sleek Orbit (teal)...

I'm at an age when not getting enough beauty sleep REALLY starts to make a difference to how I look the next day. Fortunately, there are a few little tricks I've learned along the way to deal with the overnight increase in creases and wrinkles, one of which is using matte makeup products, and in this particular case, eye shadows. Sure they're not quite as spectactular as shimmers, but for us older gals, they are a godsend when you wake up with even more crinkles than usual...

Now we all know that matte is flat, but it can still be bold and bright, and this magenta from the bhcosmetics Take Me To Brazil palette is a beauty - I patted this down over the top of Chi Chi Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Hopelessly Devoted, a fabulously cheery hot pink...

I then blended Orbit from the Sleek V2 matte palette from the outer corner, took it into the crease, and also underneath the lower lashline...

Because I felt so bleah (read that as exhausted) I lined the waterline with essence white kajal - this crayon is a lifesaver for brightening up sleep-deprived eyes, which in turn gives the whole face a much needed lift...

For cheeks I used the brightest pink from the BYS On the Brightside trio, lips are Australis Colour Inject Moisturising Mineral Lipstick in the shade Mash Up, and I topped that with Maybelline Color Elixir Gloss in Hibiscus Haven...

As tired as I am, I'm happy that I made my EOTD monthly quota - next giveaway will be up soon!

EOTD: Sleek Acid Pink, Magenta and Silver...

So what would a month of Sleek Acid EOTD's be without a hot pink version hey? Just HAD to do one of these to complete the set, and these pinks are truly gorgeous...

I was pushing my luck a little with this particular look though, because of the silver component on the lower lashline, and the black on the waterline - given my age, I'm fast approaching dangerous territory where it becomes a wee bit hazardous to use such shiny shadows on my crinkly bits, and black waterlines are probably best worn by more youthful eyes, but hey, it didn't look so bad from a distance ha ha...

The usual base of essence white kajal, then the matte bright pink on the inner corner - much more older-eyes-friendly :-) Blended the slightly shimmer magenta over the rest of the top lid, and stroked the silvery grey along the lower lashline...

In the crease I added the barest smidgin of the potent matte black, and lined the waterline with ModelsPrefer Matte Black Kohl Pencil...

On the cheeks I used Revlon Photo Ready Cream Blush in Flushed, and added a dusting of the hottest pink from the BYS On the Brightside blush trio. For the lusciously loud lips, I slicked on a generous layer of Maybelline Colorsensational lipstick in Hot Plum, with Chi Chi Valley Doll Lip Lacquer over the top...

One more EOTD for December to go, and you can bet it will be another from the Sleek Acid palette

Hope your Christmas was a particularly joyous one

EOTD: Sleek Acid Blue & Magenta...

Another look from the Sleek Acid palette - my brain is just busting with ideas for future EOTD's. I'm kinda wishing I had another pair of eyes, or at least another couple of days in the week to make them all a reality! It's almost torture trying to decide which combo to do next...

This one was particularly interesting because I combined the shimmery blue with the matte magenta (this shade was especially chosen for neurotichellfem ). Actually it looked a little unbalanced at first because of the different finishes, so I gently swiped the blue over the top of the pink to give it a bit of dimension, and that made all the difference...

As usual, the base was essence white kajal - when I first try out a palette, I tend to lay down the shadows over this white crayon so that I can see exactly what the pigmentation is like. Later on, I'll use different coloured bases once I get into experimentation mode...

I added a wee bit of Ink from the Sleek V2 Matte palette into the crease - using mattes here helps stop the shimmery shades from transfering to my hoods, and ties everything together...

For the waterline, I used bhcosmetics Waterpoof Eye Liner crayon in the shade Midnight...

Lips are MUA Matte lipstick in Lilac Belle, and over the top I slicked MNY Color Sensational Color Elixir in Petal Plush. Cheeks are bhcosmetics Lilac Blush Duo...

Can you guess what colours I'll be using next from this gorgeous palette?
