Rave review HERE, one of my favourite scents for Summer, so fresh and crisp! ♥...

Grahams Natural Vanilla Organic Lip Balm (4.25g, RRP $7.95)

Love all their products, and their lip balm is exceptional - jam-packed with organic goodness, minus the yucky stuff, and 100% edible...

This was in the Liptember Beauty Box - glad to have the opportunity to try it as I'm still searching for a charcoal toothpaste that I like, but this is not it. Quite effective in the whitening department, but the taste is awful - reminds me of Quick Eze antacid tablets...

Antipodes Worship Skin Defence Antioxidant Serum (10ml sample, RRP $5)

Couldn't believe my luck when I found a whole shelf of these 10ml bottles for $5 each at my local chemist, all with a use-by date of 2020! Considering 30ml is $53.99, I bought several to try, but it's not really my thing. I was wanting hydration, but it doesn't moisturise very much at all - instead, it's an anti-oxidant treatment to counteract free-radical damage. Love everything else I've tried from Antipodes, but don't find I have a need for this beauty...

Grahams Natural Anti-Aging Hydrating Night Cream (50ml, RRP $19.95)

Full review is HERE - at the time I guessed it would last me 6 months, and that's about right too. Sure I've been sampling a couple of others along the way, but still, it's endured incredibly well as such a small amount is required. I know I'm repeating myself but I so love this brand - zero glamour or frills, but also no stuff to irritate the skin, nor does it clog my pores...

Nivea Skin Firming & Smoothing Concentrated Serum (75ml, RRP $18.46)

I heard about this via a YouTube video by AnneMarie (HERE) plus there was a pic on Instagram (HERE) - it's the Holy Grail for shrinking under-eye bags and firming jowls. Not available for sale in Australia, I bought several bottles from iHerb - it's regularly out of stock (no wonder!), but well worth waiting for. It contains a high concentration of L-Carnitine which is a fat dissolver, plus Q10 for firming, and it works. My eye bags have reduced by half since I started using it 7 months ago, and it's also helping to firm my jawline and double-chin - been holding off revealing it as I was hoping my bags would go away completely, but they haven't. But I'm thrilled with the results so far and will keep using it in the hope that over time they'll shrink even more. Mind you my bags were MASSIVE and I've had them for 30 years, so if yours are relatively small, this is the bomb because it's permanent and it's so unbelievably cheap! ...

Nutrimetics Ultra Care Platinum Tight Firm & Fill Face Serum (30ml, RRP $102)

Another one of the treasures in the beautyheaven 10th Birthday goodie bag. It's a magnificent serum, loved everything about it, and I'm seriously considering buying it although the price tag is somewhat offputting. Haven't done my bh review of it yet, but it does have a plumping effect, and the hydration level of my skin improved dramatically, as did the surface texture. Had a major problem with the pump though, which initially drove me bonkers - the second time I used it the cap that you push down to dispense the product kept getting stuck, so much so that I had to bang it against something hard to get it to come up again. That was until I figured out I could remove the inner plastic tube from the casing, and then it worked brilliantly. That little annoyance aside, it's a very very special product ♥...

Certainly thinking about it - I went through it in about 3 weeks though, which makes it a budgeting nightmare ♥...

Garnier SkinActive Pure Charcoal Tissue Mask (RRP $4.95)

Crikey the cloth mask industry is exploding hey - just about every brand is adding them to their range now, which I'm thrilled about as they are an essential part of my skincare regime, and I love having lots to choose from. This one is a beauty - fits so well, actually I'd go so far as to say it's the best fit of all I've tried. My only beef is that the nose piece isn't long enough (nb: I hadn't ever considered that my nose might be longer than normal lol). It's refreshing and cooling, and there's a noticeable tightening sensation - loved it! ♥...

Purederm Botanical Choice Ginkgo Eye Puffiness Minimising Patches (2 pairs, RRP $3)

Wow, I get why it's $28 a pop - 2 pieces that fit well, heaps of serum, cooling, firming and hydration levels I've only ever dreamed about ♥♥♥...

Scott Cornwall Decolour Hair Colour Stripper (RRP $24.95)

My first foray into true ash-toned home hair colouring over the Christmas hols was a catastrophe - my hair turned out black as coal! Not entirely sure why as the dye pack said Dark Ash Blonde, possibly a chemical reaction, but anyway I had to get rid of it because I can assure you, black-as-the-bottom-of-a-coal-mine-during-an-eclipse does NOT suit me. So I researched online and this Scott Cornwall product is what I came up with. Works BRILLIANTLY and doesn't damage the hair. But you must follow the instructions to the letter...

Schwarzkopf Live Salon Permanent Hair Colour - Medium Ash Blonde (RRP $13.99)

My second foray into ash home hair colouring was a success thanks to this product. The result was way darker than I had planned, but that's possibly because of having to strip out the aforementioned first attempt. Fabulous colour, very low ammonia, 100% coverage. Wish they made a Light Ash Blonde in this range ♥...

Might try mixing it with the pearl blonde shade, although I've kinda fallen in love with their incredibly gentle Colour Specialist range, which I've recently trialled for beautyheaven - will do a post on that shortly ♥...

Not a particularly riveting selection this month, and five body washes (again because they were left over from previous seasons), but the main thing is that I'm getting through them, and freeing up some much needed space. My bathroom cupboard is so chockers that to find anything, I have to take out half of what's there and then put it all back, and that's no fun lol, so here we go...

Original Source Lime Shower Gel (250ml RRP $4.40)

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream (80ml RRP $54.95)

One of the products in the last Marie Claire Ageless Parcel, and an absolute stunner. The smell of it puts me off a bit though - it's quite a strong floral scent, but hey, the cream itself is amazing. One of the best I've ever tried in fact, beautifully hydrating & softening, non-greasy, and it's on special at the moment on their website for $38.47. I am drowning in skin care supplies right now, so I'm torn as to whether to order it or not. Merde - what a dilemma! It contains cold pressed Black Cumin, Camellia and Rosehip seed oils, plus seven other essential oils. I reckon any skin type would benefit, but especially if your face is dry, dry, dry...

Natures Commonscents Natural Paw Paw Body Wash (500ml RRP $8.00) 
I bought this at Coles SO long ago, and now they don't stock it any more. Big boo as it's really quite something. Very strong but authentic paw paw scent, and contains the actual fruit. Packaging is the most sturdy I've ever come across, and virtually indestructible. The white cream is amazingly moisturising, contains Vitamin E, no parabens, no sulphates, Australian made, and they don't test on animals. They have a website HERE, but only seem to sell the body wash in packs of three ♥...

While I'm a fanatical fruit fragrance fan, the smell of this is possibly TOO genuine, and I'm not that keen on paw paw. I'd certainly try the Goats Milk variety if I could find it in a store because the formula is awesome ♥...

L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Concealer Pen - Natural (RRP $19.95)

An amazing concealer - stunning coverage, perfect colour match for my skin, lasts all day and blends like a dream. Could well have been awarded my HG title, but...I'm so pissed off as there's so very little product in the wind-up tube. This lasted three weeks only, and for $20, I expect a whole lot more product than that. The packaging is just over 100mm long, but there's actually only 20mm of concealer inside - grrrrrrr....

Tempting because it works so well, but as yet I'm not over the feeling that I've been ripped off...

Garnier Nutrisse Creme Permanent Nourishing Hair Colour - Light Crystal Brown (RRP $14.95)

I do love this formula, and the colour is a gorgeous warm gold with a hint of amber. I use this for my roots, and then add blond streaks over the top ♥...

L'Oreal Preference Hair Colour - Siena (Golden Brown) (RRP $19.45)

L'Oreal do brilliant home hair colour kits - not too stinky, contains everything you need, plus this one comes with an additional tube of Colour Extender so you can refresh between sessions. Terrific idea to counteract colour fade, although I didn't actually use it...

Yes, but not this shade - it's too dark for what I'm after, and not enough warmth...

NeoStrata Pigment Controller (30ml RRP $49.95)

I had reasonably high hopes for this product, but saw absolutely no change in my pigmentation by the end of the tube. Having said that I'm pretty far gone and have had freckles all my life, but I was expecting the in-between patches of age-related darkening to show some improvement. I've read reviews where other gals have had exceptional success with this cream, but only because they persisted, and so I would probably have to do the same. Lovely cream though and excellent packaging - stands up on the bench, and the pump works a treat, no discernible scent, contains retinol and various plant extracts. I reckon I need something more heavy duty, like IPL, especially after seeing the fabulous results of Barbe's treatments ♥...

Repurchase?
Probably not - four tubes of this cost the same as an IPL session, so I'd rather invest in something that is almost a sure bet...

SK-II R.N.A Eye Cream (15g RRP $149)

Another sample from the last Marie Claire Ageless Parcel - over the moon to try it as I wouldn't normally spend that much on ANY beauty product. Can't say I'm going to invest in a full-sized jar though - it's a gorgeous cream, amazingly hydrating, absorbs well and has a pretty much instantaneous freshening effect, but I didn't find it performed any better than Clarins Super Restorative Total Eye Concentrate, which is only $90. Having said that, a 2.5g jar is not really enough to make a proper assessment, especially given my age...

Hmmm, I doubt it - it's quite a bit outside my budget, and I know the Clarins one works brilliantly for me..

LUX Moisturising Body Wash - Vanilla Flower & Sandalwood (400ml RRP $5.99)

Hard to beat the vanilla & sandalwood combo for the cooler months - this was actually left over from last Winter, and I really enjoyed finishing it off. Love the LUX formula - it's enriching and really leaves my skin feeling soft and cared for. Great price, and readily available at supermarkets...

SPOTLIGHT: Marie Claire Ageless Parcel - August 2016...

I think all subscribers agreed that the last Marie Claire Ageless Parcel was absolutely ahh-mazing, and a pretty hard act to follow, especially given it contained what's turned out to be my new number one primer (IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream, RAVE review up soon). Still this latest one is pretty darn fine in my opinion, and the more so given the value of the contents works out to be around $200 (whoa!), so here we go with the goodies...

L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Magic Blur Day Cream - full size, 50ml ($34.95)

Delighted to see this included as I've been wanting to try it for a while, but couldn't justify adding yet another jar to the ten already backed up on the shelf! But I'll start this one next. The cream is the palest of pinks, feels very light yet enriching, absorbs instantly, has quite a strong but divine floral fragrance, and if it blurs my lines while working some long term magic, then I'll be sold. The blurb says "Achieve a lit-from-within-radiance" - sounds pretty good hey? No SPF, but supposedly reduces the appearance of fine lines, pores and wrinkles. Gorgeous packaging in a very heavy glass jar, this will brighten up my vanity by just sitting there ♥♥♥...

Palmolive

 Oil Infusions Body Moisturiser - full size, 200ml ($5.99)

I've only tried the hand wash in this range, so happy to give this a go. Was slightly alarmed at the Jasmine content (we don't get on very well) but the fragrance isn't too strong although it does linger, but I'll manage. Nice non-greasy lightweight formula, takes a while to absorb, but once it sinks in, my skin feels satin smooth. Second listed ingredient is Mineral Oil, but towards the bottom there's Orange & Mandarin Orange Peel Oil. Given that formula components are usually listed by greatest quantity first, I think it's a bit naughty that Jasmine & Avocado Oil are highlighted on the front label, yet they are last on the list. My body moisturiser preference is for something a tad more natural and organic, but we'll see...

O.P.I. Nail Lacquer - Red Lights Ahead...Where? - full size, 15ml ($19.95)

Absolutely STUNNING colour! I shall thoroughly enjoy adorning my toes with this winner once my feet emerge from boots and thick socks ♥♥♥...

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Cleanser - sample size, 30ml ($3.75 value)

I'm quite taken with Philosophy products having trialled the brilliant Ultimate Miracle Worker range for beautyheaven back in April. This has a delicate and appealing fragrance, and I'll probably hang onto it for overnighters (once I've tried it of course) as it's the perfect size. Advertised as a 3-in-1 cleanser, it seems to be a massage-in-wipe-off style for face and eye makeup, and hydrates the skin as well. For the skin sensitive, surprisingly there's quite a few ingredients that start with "sodium", and it also contains isopropyl alcohol...

SK-II R.N.A Eye Cream - sample size, 2.5g ($24.80 value)

With words like "R.N.A" and "radical new age" in the name, I'm expecting big things from this eye cream! Used twice daily, it promises to "strengthen this delicate area, sagging skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles". Full size price is $149, so I'll have to get back to you on it's effectiveness - somewhat beyond my budget to say the least, but thrilled to have the opportunity to try something I normally wouldn't even dream about buying ♥♥♥...

Elizabeth Arden City Smart SPF 50 Hydrating Shield - sample size, 5ml ($11.12 value)

Love, love LOVE Elizabeth Arden Prevage anything. Yet to crack open the Anti-Aging Antixidant Infusion Essence that was in the last parcel, but am busting to try this ASAP. A slightly tinted sheer cream, it contains SPF50 and will "smog-proof" the skin and prevent it from being affected by pollution. Prior to this post, I rubbed a teeny amount on the back of my hand - very shiny and greasy looking initially, but it massaged in very quickly leaving behind only a faint sheen, and supremely softened skin. Has a very very faint SPF fragrance plus something else I can't put my finger on, but it's not unpleasant ♥...

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Sleeping Cream - sample size, 5ml ($3.43 value)

Have only used this night cream once, but it's quite lovely. The label says it's made in France, and while the pot is too tiny to list the ingredients, the accompanying card says it contains both precious and essential oils. Not so keen on the fragrance, but it dissipates quickly. Non greasy, my face just drinks this in ♥♥♥...

Jeunesse Global Instantly Ageless - full size, 50 x 0.3ml sachets ($96.80)

As usual, I've saved what I believe is my pick of the bunch till last - jumping out of my skin to try this on my wrinkly open-pored face lol. Most interesting presentation of sachets in a gorgeous little flip top box. I'm a little confused with the instructions (below) though as it says "dispense a small drop of Instantly Ageless..." and yet inside the sachet is a pink CREAM. Perhaps they've recently changed the formula? Anyways, it goes under makeup and appears to be one of those products that immediately plumps and tightens the skin as it dries, but with no permanent benefits. Have only tried it on my arm so far - surprisingly cooling, dries matte, and made the skin quite tight with a powdery feel. I've tried a few similar concoctions before that made my face look fabulously pore and line-free...until I applied my makeup, and then the effectiveness plummeted to a "forget it" level. Will definitely let you know whether this works, and whether it's worth almost $100! ♥♥♥ 

In summary, this Marie Claire Ageless Parcel is unsurpassable value for an outlay of $25 ♥♥♥

SPOTLIGHT: Marie Claire Ageless Parcel...

I signed up for The Parcel Ageless Beauty box after reading a highly informative article over at Fabulous and Fun Life back in August. I'm not one to subscribe to beauty boxes as a rule, but after seeing what was inside, and at the bargain price of $20, my arm barely had to be twisted - I went straight to the website and paid up-front for four boxes. You can read all about the first one via Ingrid's excellent post (link above) - I haven't used all the products from box #1 as yet (severe case of beauty maniac's backlog), but will review the majority of them here once I'm done. I must admit I wondered if the quality and value would be maintained throughout the subscription period, but I needn't have given it a second thought as this second edition is even better than the first. It's now known as the marie claire Ageless Parcel, and while the price has increased slightly for new subscribers, the contents are even more impressive...

Alpha-H Liquid Gold - 50ml

This was the first item I spotted when I opened the box, and the one that started my heart pounding. I've used this before - scored a bottle via the beautyheaven beautorium two years ago, instantly fell in love with what it did for my skin, and then forgot all about! Thrilled to bits at this inclusion, and the chance to revive my love affair with this amazing liquid ♥...

The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil - 7ml

Quite a mouthful of a name for such a tiny bottle, but it smells fantastic, and according to the leaflet, contains 99 percent oils of natural origin - can't wait to try this lightweight formula ♥...

Dr. Lewinn's Multi Moisture Balm - 15g

Just reading the ingredients list, I know I'm going to love this balm - almond, avocado and buriti oils. This last one I Googled because I'd never heard of it before - comes from the fruit of the (South American) moriche palm, and supposedly rich in anti-oxidants, and bright orange in colour (as is the balm).  From what I've tried of this little darling so far, I reckon it's going to be my new multi-tasking miracle skin healer ♥...

Jergens Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Moisturiser - 250ml

Not familiar with the brand, but this body moisturiser has a very pleasant scent, and seems to absorb very quickly - this big bottle should see me through the Summer ♥...

Narciso Rodriquez Narciso EDT - 0.13 fl.oz

Being the fragrance fanatic that I am, I LOVE that they included a perfume - it's only a small sample of EDT, but the fragrance is just SO beautiful, I'm writing to Santa in the hope of scoring the eau de parfum for Christmas (it's quite expensive). A floral woody musk - white gardenia, rose, musk, vetiver and cedar. Very very sensual ♥...
