This was my polish remover of choice (for my toes), but as of a couple of months ago, I stopped painting my own toenails, and now I have them shellacked at a salon - holey guacemoley, what rock have I been living under?...

Even though I'm now having my toenails painted at a salon, I still need this for removing sticky marks that come off my shoes and dull the shellac, and it doesn't damage the glossy finish, so yes, bought some today in fact ♥♥♥...

Natura Siberica Oblepikha Shower Gel (400ml, RRP $12.99)

I wasn't a fan of this shower gel when it first came out - there was a sharpness to the fragrance that didn't appeal initially, but things change, well...I changed, and now I love it! Being tall and slim it takes up minimal space in my caddy, the turquoise bottle is a standout amongst the others, it contains lots of interesting Siberian herbs, no SLS, and it doesn't dry out my skin. Hoping that one day I'll be able to pronounce it lol...

Nutrimetics Nutri-Rich Shower Oil (200ml, RRP $38)

This creates such a beautiful shower experience, I wish it wasn't so expensive. But just about everything from this brand eventually goes on sale, and surprise surprise, the replacement for this bottle was a freebie with my last order - score! A very interesting product - yes it's an oil, but when mixed with water it foams into a light and creamy cleanser that moisturises the skin without leaving it feeling greasy, or making the shower floor slippery. The apricot fragrance is to die for, and I don't need to apply any body lotions or potions afterwards. Very softening, very hydrating, very nice...

Nutrimetics Ultra Care Platinum Hand Therapy (75ml, RRP $42)

Well, it's called Hand Therapy, and that just about sums it up. Superb hand cream with a soft baby powder scent that smooths and hydrates the most withered skin. I didn't notice any reduction in my brown spots, but I'd say a few tubes would be needed for that. Love the glam silver (platinum) packaging. It's as good as the L'Occitane Shea Butter one, and absorbs COMPLETELY!...

Fell for the scent of this bargain shower gel quite a while ago, and being a Limited Edition, I stocked up. Crisp and refreshing, this is a beaut all-year-round body wash that lathers well and the delicate fruity-floral fragrance is 100% natural. Contains SLS, but unlike numerous other products with this tricky ingredient, it doesn't dry or irritate my skin ...

BioEffect Day Serum (5ml sample, 30ml, RRP $195)

Crikey, from memory this sample came in an Adore Beauty order, but I nearly fainted when I looked it up and found out that a 30ml bottle costs $195!!!! It's an interesting formulation - the clear gel is amazingly smooth and a tiny amount spreads in a flash. It feels almost like silicone, but boy does it hydrate! No scent that I can detect and some of the online reviews are from gals that swear by it. Honestly, I didn't notice any change or improvement in the short period of time I was using it, but I may have been a bit more observant and frugal with the dispensing if I'd known how much it costs lol...

Repurchase?

Umm, I doubt it - lovely serum, but for that price, I need it to work an overnight miracle!...

L'Oreal Pure Clay Detoxifying Gel Wash (150ml, RRP $14.95)

Definitely one of my favourite cleansers. My passion for anything clay or charcoal is well documented, and this contains both, so it was bound to be a winner. Love the fresh fragrance, and while it's blackish in the tube, it becomes lighter grey when mixed with water and even foams up. It's one of those rare cleansers that removes every molecule of makeup from my face, and the rinse water doesn't leave a ring around my basin, which makes it a winner...

L'Oreal Age Perfect Cell Renewal Advanced Regenerating Serum (30ml, RRP $49.95)

Trialled this for beautyheaven in March and gave it 5 stars - my review is towards the bottom of the page HERE. It's even better than the original formula, and I so looked forward to my beauty routines, both for the feel of it on my skin, and the revitalising lemony scent. Perfect overnight serum hydration-wise, and a beaut base for makeup too as it absorbs very quickly, and the pearly liquid contains tiny gold particles that give a slightly shimmery radiance to the complexion...

No less than 6 serums on my bench, but as soon as they reduce to 3, I'll definitely be picking up another of these gems ♥♥♥...

My latest under-eye-depuffing love (pictured below underneath the brown face mask) - these are slippery little suckers, so you can't really walk around with them on as gravity and the slightest movement makes them slide down, but they work a treat AND they contain charcoal. They work out to be $6 a pop, but who cares. LOVE!...

Purederm Black Food Recipe MG:Gel Mask (RRP $3)

Exceptionally hydrating, and even (temporarily) firmed my jawline. Contains 17 black foods - whoa! - including black rice, black bean and blackcurrant. The blurb says that if you store it in the fridge, even more moisture will be released when you slap it on, so for me that little extra tip is a hot weather only one. Anyways for $3 from Kmart, it's a bargain and well worth trying to find it in amongst the gazillion masks they have for sale these days...

South Mane Lip Gel (Pack of 3, RRP US$9)

Also pictured above partially covered by the face mask, this pack of 3 came in a Lip Monthly box. They're huge and cover the entire lip area and surrounds, but are also very slippery so you need to lie down and not move your mouth at all. Nicely softening, but very little moisturising beyond the 10 minutes of wear...

I think this may work best if you have bleached blonde hair - it toned down the yellow in mine, but overall my colour was too dark for this to have anything other than a neutralising effect. Leaves the hair nicely conditioned and glossy though...

Schwarzkopf Live Colour Pastels Cool Grey (RRP $5.49)

Now, this is the go - it actually adds colour, a lovely soft grey (not purplish or bluish). It may sound odd that I wanted to put grey in my hair, but it's true - my ultimate goal is ash blonde with silver streaks. I've decided to go with the flow a bit more, and change my colour to something that blends a whole lot better with my white roots, which are killers to cover up every 2 weeks. This cheap-as-chips semi-permanent has already helped get me closer to where I want my tresses to be without any more damage, and I will continue to use it every month or so (in addition to the Schwarzkopf Colour Specialist) to keep the yellows at bay...

Harvest Garden Lavender & Patchouli with Zeolite Clay Soap (130gm, RRP $7.50)

I'm declaring these to be my favourite soap bars of all time! Wow, that's pretty impressive seeing as I've tried and loved quite a few, but none can really compare to this brand. They are SO creamy, so NON-DRYING (my go-to for shaving), and the fragrance lasts to the last sliver - for me that enduring scent quality is the thing that sets them apart from all the others. When I have one of these bars on my vanity or in my shower, I can smell it even before I pick it up, and this Lavender & Patchouli combo shares top spot on my love-list along with the +Rose Geranium one. Mind you I haven't tried the whole range yet, but I have at least eight of these bars scattered amongst my socks & undies drawers, and I even have a couple at the bottom of my dirty linen basket! By the time I get to use them, they've hardened a bit more and one cake will last a good 6 months. They use 100% natural ingredients, and they're riddled with essential oils ♥♥♥...

Skin Doctors Younger Hands (75ml, RRP $34.95)

Was disappointed with this hand cream - oh it's lovely, very hydrating and non-greasy, but I was kinda hoping that for the price I would see my hands looking "...10 years younger in 6 weeks" as advertised. Sadly it didn't happen, but then again my hands are pretty far gone. I've tried numerous products to lighten my age spots but they don't work, well at least not to the extent that I'm after...

Nope - for now, I'll stick with a hand cream that keeps my paws super moisturised, and I don't need to spend $35 for that...

Kevin Murphy Shimmer.Shine (100ml, RRP $42.95)

I've mentioned before my dilemma in trying to find a substitute for Reference of Sweden Shine Spray, and this is it. My hairdresser put me onto it and I'm thrilled. It's not the same delivery method but gives me a similar result - a non-aerosol spray that contains vitamins and essential oils, and teeny little particles of gold shimmery bits, the combination of which gives my hair a glisten and gleam without weighing it down, or any oily residue. There are two bonuses in that the bottle is clear so I can see how much is left, and it's cruelty-free ♥♥♥...

muk. deep muk Ultra Soft Conditioner (300ml, RRP $24.95)

Embarassed to say this has been at the back of my cupboard for four years since I won it in the beautyheaven Blogstar competition! The reason why it stayed so long in the dark is buried somewhere in my befuddled brain, but even after all this time it was 100% viable, and a true joy to experience the unbelievably soft tresses it gave me. Exquisitely refreshing fragrance, boy do I feel stupid ♥♥♥...

Reference of Sweden Repair Shampoo Sulfate Free REF.551 (750ml, RRP $58)

This was and probably still is my #1 shampoo, but I've stopped using it as I've switched to the Goldwell Kerasilk range to maintain the benefits of my Keratin treatment, and to take advantage of the post-treatment guarantee which requires me to use their products. But if I ever stop having the Kerasilk anti-frizz thingy done, I would go back to this brand in a heartbeat. Absolutely RAVED about it HERE ♥♥♥...

Antipodes Worship Skin Defence Antioxidant Serum (10ml, RRP $?)

Can't for the life of me remember how I came by this - mine was a 10ml (sample) bottle so I didn't buy it, but hey who cares! Loved it, absorbs in a flash, hydrates beautifully, but I didn't enjoy the experience as much as the Hosanna one as it has a different fragrance. All the same, I reckon this brand is acing the serum market...

BotanicES Eye Crème  (15ml, RRP $40)

This is one of my regulars - at my age it's not quite potent enough to get me through the Winter quarter when I need oodles more moisture, but this was left over from the end of Autumn, and I've started using it again now that the humidity is returning. Been loving the whole range for around 18 months now (review HERE) and can't imagine NOT having it on my bench. It lasts forever, and definitely firms the eye area ♥♥♥...

The problem with being a blogger is that by being "involved" in the industry, there are so many tempting skincare products to try, and I personally find it hard to stick to any one brand - of course there are a few that are regulars in my kit, and there are others I intend to be regulars, but then I find something else that shows a tad more promise. This baby definitely has potential - I noticed some plumping of my skin overall, and the deep furrows between my brows seemed shallower. It only lasted me a month, so to be fair I'm adding it to my list to test over a longer period, like three months, just to see what it can do, and at $40 that's certainly doable. Felt fabulous as I applied it on my face, and there's no discernible fragrance. Unlike other serums it doesn't provide any surface hydration - it's more about the underlying structure, but there's a definite smoothing effect. Hmmmm, more later ♥...

Yes - this is definitely worth some extended experimentation ♥...

Sukin Hydrating Mist Toner (125ml, RRP $9.95)

This little bottle of refreshment has just recently won it's second beautyheaven Best in Beauty award, and I can understand why. The formula is soothing, cooling, includes chamomile & rosewater, smells absolutely delicious, and with Summer fast approaching, it's the perfect pick-me-up after a long hot day. I've had this bottle for a few years, and it's lasted this long because I've kept it as a treat for stinking hot days - I spray it on after my nighttime skincare routine, and go to bed feeling fresh and becalmed. Overall I find Sukin products to be brilliant - they don't contain any yucky chemicals, nor do they test on animals ♥♥♥...

For some reason I didn't take a photo of this one, actually I think it was during the week so that would explain why. Like all Korean masks, it was a very pleasant experience, but nothing special. Ok so I did four of these every Sunday for a month to see if my uneven skin tone would improve, and delighted to say it did. Trouble is there are so many others I want to try lol ♥...

Jojoba Skin Refining & Brightening Face Mask  (3ml sample)

This was free with a bottle of their oil - lovely mask, the colour of oatmeal, smells organic and earthy, and you only leave it on for max 10 minutes before rinsing. Nice enough but not sure I'd spend $50 on a full-sized tube - I think there are other brands that work just as well for a fraction of that price...

Petitfee Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch (60 pieces, RRP $13.17)

My only real dud last month. Ordered from iHerb, this was a small jar containing 60 gold coloured plasticcy patches swimming in a sea of hydrating serum. Sounds pretty good right? So I tried them a few times and after removing the patches, I had NO eye bags and NO wrinkles under my eyes...whoa!!!!...for 30 seconds, and then they all came back. Sob. And then the next time I went to use them, the serum had all evaporated and the patches were just sticky - no idea what happened to the fluid as I made sure I screwed the lid back on securely. Anyways, they didn't cost much so I tossed them...

This was the closest thing I could find to the Urban Rituelle Romance one below - similar but with Patchouli & Rose instead of Musk. I didn't twig at the time of purchase, but there's a major design flaw - the bottle is tall so it topples over easily, and the neck is so narrow that the reeds all stick together, and therefore the scent doesn't permeate as well as it could...

Urban Rituelle Reed Diffuser - Romance (190ml)

Pearl Drops Instant Natural White Charcoal Innovation Toothpaste (75ml, RRP $11.99)

Gave this a go because of the charcoal content. So far I haven't found either a charcoal powder or a toothpaste that whitens my teeth any more than mainstream whitening brands. This has a delish minty flavour, but like so many other products with charcoal content, it's messy. The paste is dark purple so you'll need to rinse thoroughly after use or else your lips and teeth give you a very nice zombie look...

Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream (60ml, RRP $55.99)

So I'm officially stating that this moisturiser is my overnight HG - this pot of goodness does everything for my skin that I want it to in the nourishment & hydration department, and the fragrance blisses me out. I SO look forward to my nightly cleanse just so I can use this! Actually I'm fast becoming an Antipodes addict. Contains Avocado Oil, Manuka Honey Active 20+ & Vinanza Grape. The scent comes from sandalwood, ylang ylang & patchouli essential oils. Euphoria! ♥♥♥...

Be Fraiche The Flower Face Cream (50 ml, RRP $35)

Interestingly this is a close second to the Antipodes cream - very similar fragrance (scented with Frankincense & Patchouli), enriching but not heavy or greasy. Like the one above, massaging it into my face is the most pleasurable experience. This adorable sample pot came my way in the Bloggers United AU goodie bag last year, another instance of me being very silly to wait so long to try it ♥...

BotanicES Natural Caffeine Face Creme (50ml, RRP $45)

As mentioned in earlier empties posts, this moisturiser will always be in my kit. While I find myself needing something more potent for overnight at this time of year, this is the cream I fall back on whenever my pores become congested with anything else I'm using, and it's the perfect consistency and formula for summer when my skin can't take anything too heavy ♥♥♥...

Freezeframe REVITALEYES (15ml, RRP $69)

A delightfully refreshing gel, sadly this did nothing for my vast array of issues. For the price I was hoping for a mini-miracle, but perhaps I'm too far gone for it to have any effect. Mind you my wrinkles and bags didn't get any worse during the time I used it, but there was no obvious improvement. After reading reviews around the internet, it seems folks either love it or are very disappointed, given how expensive it is...

Jojoba Natural Pigmentation Oil (30ml, RRP $39.99)

Designed to target age spots, uneven skin tone and pigmentation, I was very excited to try this product. It's lovely, comes in a gorgeous shimmery orange bottle, has a very pleasant smell and my skin seemed to drink it in, but as with anything else in my skincare experiments, if I don't see any noticeable benefits by the time I get to the bottom of the container, then I tend to write it off, and that's what happened here...

L'Oreal Revitalift Laser Renew/Laser X3 Eye Cream (15ml, RRP $44.95)

Well now, I'm on the fence with this one - I noticed an initial improvement in the first week as far as firming is concerned, so it scores points for that, but no change thereafter. Interestingly the blurb says to apply it to the under eye area, but no mention about the region above, and I need something that will work everywhere. Mind you so far my bags are defying just about anything. Nifty metal (somewhat phallic-shaped) applicator, but I never like these things so I always dispense onto my pinkie...

Aimed at normal to dehydrated skin, for me this Pomegranate variety is the least hydrating of the three available. I actually found it to be better for firming and tightening - go figure? ♥♥......

Garnier SkinActive Hydra Bomb Chamomile Tissue Mask (RRP $5)

My favourite of the three in the range - in a word, calming. One of the most relaxing sheet mask experiences, target is sensitive or dry skin, neither of which I have but this was just so lovely. The only reason I didn't doze off completely is because I left the packet on my forehead after I took the piccie, and it slid off when I started to turn on my side, which I do just before I go to sleep, but never do when I'm wearing a mask, but hey I was just so relaxed ♥♥♥...

Like all SR sheet masks, this was supernally hydrating and came with oodles of serum so there was plenty to massage into my neck and hands after I was done. Not sure that it's special enough for me to buy again though - some of their others are knockouts, and I'd rather concentrate on the ones that make a big difference rather than a small one...

Skin Republic Brightening Eye Mask (3 pairs RRP $9.99)

No photos 'cos I applied them on week nights, but I used the remaining pairs last month instead of the Collagen Hydrogel patches. They do different things, so there's a place for both, and I won't give up my collagen patches ever again, not for anything. The patches firm, whereas these eye masks cover the entire eye area, and are deliciously hydrating.

7th Heaven Dead Sea Mud Pac (20g, RRP $3.99)

Only the second one from this brand I've tried, but I'm in love. You know that fabulously fresh salty smell and feel your skin has when you've had a day at the beach? Well this gives you the same, only there's additional aquatic fragrances and hydrating ingredients, and it doesn't leave your skin feeling parched, quite the contrary actually. Contains kaolin, Dead Sea salt, Dead Sea mud, seaweed extract and lavender oil to name a few of the goodies in the mix. Yes it's messy, but aren't they all ♥♥♥...

Amazon Series Muru Muru Anti-Frizz Smoothing Masque (250ml, RRP $29.95)

My new hairdresser recommended this to help maintain the benefits of my keratin treatments. I like it because I don't have to leave it on for a long time to reap the rewards, and therefore I can give my tresses a hit while I'm showering, and in between post-colouring deep conditioning.  It has a lovely natural fragrance, and leaves my hair silky soft. Don't like the container as it's difficult to unscrew the lid and scoop out the product with the shower running, but I can live with that ♥...

Kevin Murphy Smooth.Again.Wash Smoothing Shampoo (250ml, RRP $38.95)

Another recommendation from my stylist. Nothing special and not as good at smoothing fly-aways as my HG Reference of Sweden, but I can't buy that any more so was prepared to try something else. Not keen on the rectangular packaging with the cap sticking out design as it's an awkward shape to fit in my storage hangers. I've since found a salon that sells the entire Goldwell Kerasilk range, and I'll probably stick with that...

Whether this worked or not (it did) I would buy it again for the fragrance alone. If it was an EDP I would wear it every day. There's something about the scent that makes my whole body sing. I stand there in the shower taking deep breaths because it's so fabulous - must be the papaya and the pineapple. Anyway it's also a beaut 2 minute conditioner, and this particular rectangular bottle shape (with the cap on top) is workable ♥♥♥...

My weekend mascara. It's so good I'd wear it every day, but I need fibres in my mascara for as long as I'm taking photos - my lashes just don't show up in the pics if I don't. But this is a beautiful mascara, full of natural and mostly organic ingredients. I treat my lashes to its goodness on Saturdays and Sundays, and I feel them breathe a sigh of relief when I start stroking it on ♥♥♥...
