LOTD: Strawberry Daiquiri...

I have a huge backlog of LOTD's to post, and decided to start my catch-up with this pretty pastel pink pucker polish :-) This is unusually delicate for me, but I love surprising myself from time to time and going with a nude or pale pink lip look - such a good reminder for me that lips don't necessarily have to be LOUD ha ha...

I  began with my favourite lip pencil, ASAP Pure Mineral, and this is shade ONE - it's my fave for numerous reasons, none more so than because it covers all my brown freckles, and creates the perfect base for whatever I add next...

This is Mirenesse French Kiss Lip Cocktail in the shade Daiquiri - doesn't last very long, but it's magnificently moisturising, and if you're a VIP Member, reasonably priced at around $23. The colour reminds me of creamed strawberries, and it's probably what I'd classify as "My Lips But Better"...

The gloss is Max Factor Silk Gloss in the shade Strawberry Frost. I don't think they make this particular range any more, and I honestly can't remember where I scored this (did you send it to me Cat?), but as you can see it's the perfect accompaniment to the Daiquiri lippy, hence the blog title...Strawberry Daiquiri :-) This is the only Max Factor gloss I've ever owned (or tried for that matter) but I love it - slick mirror finish, deliciously hydrating, does a remarkably good job of plumping out my lip wrinkles, and the doe's foot applicator is one of those big ones that picks up lots of product, actually the only kind I'll tolerate...

Take care of you,

    1. Spot on Ailyn - and I think you've invented a new term! I've heard of My Lips But Better (MLBB), but I like MLBG even more ha ha...

  2. Pale pinks ❤. I like the look of the ASAP Pure Mineral lip pencil. I would chuck some lip balm over it and wear it like that for an easy everyday look.

    1. Great idea Sam - I could actually get away with that as this pencil disguises my lip freckles, which is one of the main reasons why I wear lip products :-)

  3. Gorgeous lips Kats!
What a beautiful feminine shade all three products produce. I think it's stunning. The ASAP liner sounds really lovely too. *adds another product to wish list* LOL
I own a couple of Mirenesse lippies. They are ok but I don't use them often. I should give one another whirl today :D
The Max Factor gloss produces a really nice shine too! Love it! :D

    1. It's nice and girly hey Gemma :-) The ASAP liner is quite different to any of my others - it ends up being more like an opaque stain, really hard to describe but it's fab and highly recommended. I'm not overly enthralled with Mirenesse lipsticks, it's their glosses I adore, but this one definitely has some merit because of the pretty colour, and as for the MF gloss, so often I discover a product just after it has ceased production - boo! Oh well, that'll teach me to leave things languishing in my drawer for months lol...

  8. Hey there Faiza - thanks for commenting hon, and what lovely comments :-) I'm fortunate my eyes have very few wrinkles at 6am (which is when I take my pics) but sadly by lunchtime everything's started to sag, and by bed time, the creases and crinkles have well and truly set in - boo!

  9. This colour looks beautiful on you, Kat, and the plumping effect is very noticeable !!! I think I'm getting a bit confused with the terms lip pencil and lip liner pencil. Can you only use the latter for lining lips only and the former for lining lips as well as filling the whole lip in ? The Mariposa ones I bought state "lip pencil" but they are long and thin and look like lip liner pencils. So can use them to colour in my whole lip ?

    1. Hi Arty - to me all these terms are interchangeable, as are the uses. The only thing different is that some lip pencils/crayons are fat and chunky, but if they have a relatively sharp point you can still line your lips with them as well as fill them in. Lip liners can be used any way you like - I've even used a lip liner as an eye liner (a bold bright purpley pink), but some gals have sensitive eyes so it pays to be cautious. I always use my lip liners/pencils/crayons to colour in my lips (as well as line them) because I have freckles to cover, and also by applying them all over, they wear off more evenly, and I'm not left with an odd ring around my mouth :-)
