You may have noticed I've been going a bit Lacura Loco lately - I'm gradually discovering some top class beauty products in amongst the Aldi chaos, and everything I've tried from the Minerals range is brilliant! So here are the lipsticks. I bought one of their regular lippies to try and wasn't all that impressed (unless you hold the tube the right way, the lipstick gets pushed down when you apply it), but these ones are gems - and only $4.99. The hard part is trying to find them...
Only four colours available, but every shades is gorgeous, and there's bound to be one that suits all complexions. They're deliciously rich and moisturising, and there's plenty of pigment even though they're a little sheerer than I'm used to - still you can see below that they cover my freckly lips just fine...
Soft Rose Nougat Shimmer
Like the lip glosses in this range, they're dermatologically tested, suitable for sensitive skin, and are boxed and sealed in cellophane so they can't be tampered with. The glossy black case is cute, the curvey shape feels comfy in my hands, and the lid closes securely. They have a delicate florally fragrance, and a faint florally taste...
Ruby Red Rosewood
I recently stocked up, and given my blog's 1st birthday is only 15 days away (woo hoo!), I thought I'd share some more love by giving away the whole set :-)

hhmm...Im thinking the Rosewood looks wonderful but they are all really pretty...very impressive.
ReplyDeleteThey're all great Fawn - the only one I haven't worn much is the Nougat Shimmer, but the rest are getting quite a workout :-)
DeleteWow love the look and sound of these Kats! Im heading straight to Aldi tomorrow
ReplyDeleteHope you have some luck Kate - I found them on a stand in the middle aisle not far from the front, almost hidden in amongst some dental products. Well worth a seek mission though ♥
DeleteThey all look wonderful, but the Soft Rose is my pick of the four....boo Hoo! I wish we had Aldi here in WA. Claire xx
ReplyDeleteHey Claire - I just found a Facebook page that says "Join if you want Aldi in Perth!!!". Hope it gets the attention of Aldi Management :-)

Soft rose :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a pretty one Neha - delicate, but enough oomph for some definition :-)
DeleteLoving ruby red :)
ReplyDeleteHi Janvi - I actually wore Ruby Red today! With a pink liner underneath, it's quite striking, and a very flattering shade ♥
DeleteThey sound amazing Kats and all the colours look gorgeous on you. I adore the rose shade.
ReplyDeleteCant believe its been nearly a year. That's crazy!!
Best of luck to everyone entering xx
The rose is very versatile Gemma - quite a bit more than a nude, but not at all loud ha ha. And you're so right hon - it only seems like a few months ago that I started this little bit of fun, and now I can't live without it ♥
DeleteI love the look of Ruby Red! That's a big milestone! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps TP - ah yes I can clearly see you in Ruby Red, stunning in fact hon xxx
DeleteI saw all these in Aldi the other day and was soooo tempted to pick some up but decided not to cave. Now after seeing your swatches I definitely wish I had snatched them up! That rosewood shade is so stunning!!
ReplyDeleteThey've been there for almost a month now Monique - quite unusual as these "specials" often disappear after a couple of weeks. Well worth $4.99 hon - I think the Rosewood is my fave ♥
DeleteI really love that Ruby shade. Congrats on 1 year of blogging, Kat. I am so glad that we are treated with every one of your cleverly constructed posts, hun xx
ReplyDeleteDarling Indie, thanks so much sweetie! The Ruby Red would be beautiful on your luscious lips - it's distinctive, but not loud if you know what I mean ♥
DeleteFirstly I have to offer huge congratulations on your blogs 1st year anniversary. I am so thrilled to see the fabulous posts that you put together and it is really obvious how much you love blogging.
ReplyDeleteI love the ruby red as it looks like it is a really wearable one and would suit most skintones.
Bless you Kate - yes I ADORE blogging, just wish I had more time to spend writing heaps more posts. I have around 65 "drafts" at the moment, and the number is growing by the day!
DeleteRosewood for sure! I always gravitate towards those lovely plummy pink shades.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on hitting such a major milestone! :)
Thank you MDIMD ♥ Rosewood is quite lovely, and I'm tempted by it just about every morning :-)
DeleteCongrats on your blog anniversary Miss Perfect Pout! I do love your pouting lips pics so I'm saying it again! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I still haven't mastered it yet! LOL
Btw, I'm loving the Rosewood shade and I think it will be a nice nude shade on me. I like the Ruby Red too and it's not screaming red, is it?
Wishing you more blog power and keep on making us inspired with your hypnotic eye creations!
xoxo Mia
Oh crumbs Smiling Filipina, how sweet of you to say hon! All I can say is practice, practice, practice - took me around 6 months to get the hang of lip pics, and I'm forever experimenting with different angles and lighting, but there's really only one combo that works for my crinkly pucker lol. And Ruby Red is as subtle as you want it to be - on it's own, it's very low key, but with a liner underneath and red gloss over the top - pow!
DeleteMy favourite is Ruby Red, as I always love a bold red lip colour. Congrats on the blog anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI've only just started embracing red lippies stackcats - boy do I feel silly for avoiding them for so long lol! Thanks for the congrats hon - can't believe it's been a year and I'm still going ♥
DeleteWow, how time flies. Incredible that it is almost one year since you started blogging. Congratulations and keep going please because you do such an incredible job. BTW, the ruby red looks like it would suit me!
ReplyDeleteThanks a bunch roxy - hard to believe I know, scary in a way because we're all a year older too (and wiser of course ha ha) x ♥ x
Deletesoft rose <3
ReplyDeleteOooh yes, I definitely agree Hayles - Soft Rose and you are match made in heaven hon ♥
DeleteCongratulations on the first blog anniversary! Now we are waiting for a youtube channel :)
ReplyDeleteLol Magda, a what? Actually I already have the YT channel, just haven't had time to put anything together except for a couple of EOTD slide shows from the old days when I was just beginning. Oh dear, it's almost embarassing, I should remove them ha ha. Thanks for your kind wishes sweetie ♥
DeleteBit behind here but I can't believe you have been blogging for a year.........where did that year go?
ReplyDeleteBeen a great journey watching you blogging though kats........this was a day I was looking forward to when you of all people would start blogging. Thoroughly enjoyed being with you on the journey and look forward to more years of following you. Congratulations, on such great blogging :-)
