CONFESSIONS: of a Body Washaholic (Part 12) - Imperial Leather (new)...

Imperial Leather have done it again. Whoever is creating their fragrance formulas sure has their finger on my particular perfume pulse - the scents of these new body washes are Spring-fresh, and just the ticket for a bathroom seasonal change-over. I first spotted the new Indulgence line in Woolies about 2 months ago, and the Limited Edition addition to the Body range only appeared at my local supermarket a few weeks back. Due to a major storage issue, I haven't been in body wash seek mode for several months - I've been attempting to clear the massive backlog of products on my shelf (and in my cupboard), but these just leapt out at me during my weekly shop, and I couldn't help but make them mine...

BIRD OF PARADISE - Shea Butter & Honeysuckle
I love just about all the varieties in this range, have reviewed each one in previous editions of this Confessions series (most reviews are here and here), and I literally jumped for joy when I saw this new flavour. Aptly named Bird of Paradise, this is a delight for the senses. I have no idea what the honeysuckle flower smells like, but I do know that hummingbirds go crazy for it, and I'm a nutter for this fragrant blend. My nose picks up fuzzy peach coated in musky marshmallow (yum!), and according to their website, there's also vanilla, sandalwood and amber in the blend. Altogether a dreamy concoction that leaves my skin soft and moist, and smelling scrumptious ...

EFFORTLESS - Sparkling Citrus & White Gardenia
Delighted with the new slimline packaging of this range - the bottle is skinny and flat and takes up half the room on my shower shelf. The formula is thick and clear, nourishingly moisturising, the lather is creamy and soft, and there are hundreds of tiny little Argan Oil pearls suspended in the gel. If I have to pick a favourite of the three, then this is it - the scent is beautifully fresh and feminine, there's a purity about it, an innocence, and it's actually more like a "white flowers" eau de parfum than a shower product. I would be spritzing it all over if it were available as a perfume ...

BEAUTIFUL - Jasmine, Lychee & Peony
Another absolute gem - a similarly refreshing fruit and floral combination, but with a playful tang that almost earns it an "exotic" tag in the kats scent catalogue. While not mad keen on jasmine in body products, I can barely pick up that particular ingredient (yay). And I so love anything containing lychee - perhaps that's what gives this blend its mystery? Not in the least bit heady, it's subtle, sophisticated and enlivening at the same time. Less than half the quantity of visible oil pearls, but the formula is no less softening or moisturising, and I adore the pale peony pink colour...

There's a third one in this Indulgence range called PRECIOUS - Rosewater & Sandalwood, which is a golden hue. I've given it the sniff test twice now, but there's something musty going on - I'm usually entranced by anything Sandalwoody, but this particular combination just doesn't appeal. Still, as Meatloaf would say, two out of three ain't bad...

Crazy in love with all three of these body washes, and the fact that they're available when I'm picking up my groceries is a bonus I so appreciate

What's your favourite body wash scent this Spring?

Take care of you,
kats xxx

P.S. Don't miss Ingrid's Monday Makeup Madness Link Up Party - I've found some fun new bloggers to follow, and they're all on the one page

    1. It's a lovely range Candy - I guess they are a bit luxe 'cos the bottles are only 250ml for the same price as a 500ml, but well worth it. The pearls look so pretty too, and they just kinda dissolve on the skin and leave it soft and supple, but not oily in any way ♥♥♥

    1. I'm in the same boat hon, I have SO many in my shower at any one time, but I love to have a variety to choose from each day. We don't get Dial products here, but I had a look at the Walmart website and they certainly have some interesting sounding fragrances in the range - there was one there called Frozen Yoghurt!

  9. How do you even find them? I swear, there's always the one and only bottle of IL sitting on the shelf when I'm at Woolies!

    1. Hey TP - I can't figure out how "they" determine what they put on their shelves. Sometimes Coles has heaps, other times it's Woolies that has the whole range, seems to vary from one store to the next - I just grab them whenever I see them, but you may have to look further afield, hope you find them ♥♥♥

  10. Spring flowers like jasmine & gardenia mean migraines for me, but the notes in Bird of Paradise sound right up my alley. I haven't seen this one around yet. I love the exotic mix of scents they put in the Imperial leather washes. Great review, I'm off shopping too, lol.

    1. I've only found it at Woolworths hon, and it wasn't easy to spot because it's a similar colour to a couple of the others - hope you can track it down ♥♥♥
