EOTD & REVIEW: L.A.Girl NEONS Green and Purple...

Time to introduce you to a new palette - L.A.Girl NEONS Beauty Brick. I bought this for less than $10 a few weeks ago from MBA Cosmetics, specifically for the new season so I could create some pretty nature-inspired looks. This is a box of 12 gorgeous hues - not "neons" by any stretch of the imagination, but still beautiful Spring colours that you'll be seeing quite frequently in the months ahead...

The box is a combination of sturdy cardboard and plastic, and has a magnetic lid with a mirror strip on the inside cover. It came with a double-ended applicator - one end is a sponge and the other is a reasonable brush with soft bristles...

As you can see from the swatches, pigmentation varies from ok to pretty darn good - the paler hues definitely need a quality primer or matching coloured base to bring out their beauty, but some of the bolder shades are really quite stunning. There's six shimmers and six mattes -  the mattes have a very slight sparkle to them, but it's barely visible on the skin...

For this look I used the lime green and the purple, starting with a base of ModelsPrefer Infinite Colour Eye Pencil in the shade Lime Tart. I also used this pencil on the waterline, and was reasonably impressed with the staying power...

In this pic I'm wearing Mirenesse Velvet Maxi Lift Supreme Antiageing Renovage 18 hr Foundation (phew!), my current HG, and one I'll be reviewing soon Blush is the middle pan from the BYS Coral Me In Trio, and lips are Maybelline Coloursensational Lipstick in the shade Coffee Craze, the most divine nude that doesn't need any gloss topping...

In summary, a lovely palette - not the best pigments around town, but they blend well, and there are quite a number of shades that I don't have in any other brand

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  1. Positively gorgeous, as usual, of course!! LOVE the full face pic - is the hair slightly darker or is that the lighting? I must commend you on answering every comment personally, Kats. Much appreciated, even though it must take a decent chunk of your time. A lovely touch. Have a good week.
    Love,
    Trish.

    1. Hello my darling Trish! Trust you to spot the difference - yes the mane is darker, happens every Winter, but I'm adding some streaks next week to get me in the Spring/Summer mood ha ha. Gee I have so little time these days - I've had to let go of a whole bunch of activities, but responding to comments on my precious blog I will never EVER let fall by the wayside. Keep well sweetheart ♥♥♥

  2. I love how you can make any eye shadow work for you, even if it's average quality. I love this colour combo. So lush xx

    1. Well you know me Indie, never say "dud" lol. Actually these shadows are incredibly pretty - they're much softer than they look in the pan, but that makes them perfect for Spring ♥♥♥

  4. Purple & green are nice together, but unexpected. They really pack a neon pop alright!
