November Empties & Christmas 2019 Giveaway!...

Hi lovelies! Hope you are all safe and well, and not getting too stressed over the silly season. Only two more sleeps till the magic of Christmas is well and truly sealed. I decided this year to not have a separate giveaway for this special time as I'm one of those who believe that the spirit of Christmas should be in our hearts all year long, which is why I have a giveaway every month. So it's business-as-usual at kats colourings, but I have added a few little extras to the giveaway to mark this extra special occasion. And of course, there are my November empties to cover (almost all of them are regulars!), so let's proceed before all the chimneys are full of red legs lol ...

November Empties - all the products I used up last month

Body

Johnson & Johnson Advanced Healing Hydro Seal Band-Aid  (box of 10, RRP $8.47)
Last reviewed a few years ago and should be a regular, but I keep forgetting to hold onto the box, and the 10-pack lasts over 12 months. This is the only product I use for cuts, blisters and mosquito bites (stops me scratching them) - almost invisible and the stay put till the spot is healed. More expensive than regular band-aids, but there's no comparison when it comes to effectiveness ...

Absolutely ...

Natures Commonscents Natural Goats Milk & Paw Paw Body Wash (500ml, $8.00)
The last time this appeared was in October 2016, but having rediscovered it recently (when bestie gave it to me 'cos she couldn't take the scent) I've no doubt it will be included in the Regulars section going forward. The formula is the same creamy moisturising delight as the plain Goats Milk one but differs in that it has this unusual Paw Paw scent, which probably isn't for everybody. There's something a bit sour about it, and I while I would call the scent authentic, I didn't review the smell all that joyously back then, but it's grown on me. No sulphates, parabens or tested on animals, it is deliciously hydrating, and the bottle is HUGE. Just wish I could find the oatmeal scrub one, but it seems to have slipped under the supermarket radar ...

Breeze Balm Lip Balm - Pineapple Pash (15g, RRP $19.95)
The best, most effective, most delicious lip balm I've ever tried. I thought I would love the banana one more, but Pineapple Pash is the winner for its fruity-freshness. Makes me smile whenever I apply it, lasts for ages. Full and lovingly raved-about review HERE ...
Repurchase?
Oooh yes, plus I ordered their Fruit Smash Trio, which is Go Go Mango, Watermelon Crush & Apple Burst which I'll review separately once I've cracked the seal ...

Face Masks

Oh boo! Not one sheet mask in November - a testament to my workload, extra Sunday sleeps and a few unexpected social activities. But I'll be back with a vengeance in 2020 as there are HEAPS more on the market to try, as well as renewing my acquaintance with my longtime faves ...

    2. Just might have to get that Eye of Horus sharpener. If it’s anything like the quality of their other products, I’m definitely sold.

      1. I reckon it's a must if you have their Goddess pencils MerryGoRound - other sharpeners I've used have mashed up the liner product, but not this little baby xxx

    3. Have done both at home and it’s not that hard ... until you get two curious WHITE kittens. Now it’s salon only for everyone’s benefit!

      1. Gosh MGR, did they end up with dye on them? I have an eyebrow dyeing kit, but no kitty any more so I won't have any feline interference ha ha xxx

    4. Ive only had my lashes dyed twice in my life and both times they were done professionally. On one occasion it was done by a friend of mine who ws just setting up her own beauty business from home and she wanted someone to trial things out on. It was awesome. No way I would try this at home. I would be way too scared that I would stuff up.

Kats ....this giveaway is seriously awesome. Being the perfumeaholic that I am I cant help but be excited by that awesome gift set.
Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones and thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts with us through this blog. Your honesty and all your amazing competitions show just how truly kind and awesome you are.

      Hi Kats,
I’ve never tried to dye my lashes or brows at home, I leave that to the professionals as I’m sure it would end in disaster!

      1. Hi Claire, yes that's my fear as well. My brows are blonde, almost transparent and it's taken me ages to find a colour that doesn't make me look like a weirdo, but oh how I would love to wake up with brows already there!

    7. Posting on behalf of Tracy M:
I had my eyelashes tinted once about 10 years ago. I won it as a raffle prize from my hairdresser that did makeup and other things from home. I wanted to swap this to having my hair trimmed but she wouldn't let me and assured me that it would look fabulous and I would keep coming back to have it done. Pfffttt! I could hardly see it and no one commented. Even my family couldn't see it at dinner that night after it batted my eyelashes at them. What a waste of time. Loved you reviews again Kats and Merry Christmas to you.

      1. How disappointing Tracy - I've never had anything dyed (except my hair) so I'm a bit nervous about either it looking too fake, or as in your case, nobody can see any difference!

    11. Great blog post Kats!

I don't have to dye my brows as they are naturally super dark. I forgot how lucky I am sometimes.

I've tried that mouth wash before and I am a fan!

      1. You are most fortunate Dara - mine are virtually invisible, always have been...sigh. Yes the mouth wash is a beauty - this is the third year I haven't had any dental cavities and I'm sure it's contributing to my overall mouth health ♥

    12. This is one I'd leave to the experts Kats!

Never had my eyebrows dyed as they've always been brown but if these grey hairs infiltrate, then I'd go to a professional and get them shaped and tidied up at the same time.

      1. Ha ha - you're probably right Kassalee. Mine have been the palest ashy blonde since I was a baby. All reasonably ok until now that I'm older and my face needs all the definition I can give it ♥

    13. No - I have never attempted dying my lashes or brows at home and I can't imagine anything more risky. To be honest, I wouldn't even go to a professional to do it - I'd be too scared! :D

    14. I’ve never attempted colouring eyelashes (mascara is made for that) but Oh goodness do I have some stories to tell about dyeing eyebrows from my teenage years. So many experiments gone wrong (not that I thought so at the time) it’s only now in hindsight that I can really admit to how amusing my vanity appeared to people looking on.

      1. Hi mandachic, so happy you dropped by ♥ Isn't hindsight an interesting thing lol? I look back at my wedding photos (in the 80's) and I have a major hairdo explosion, padded shoulders, and no eyebrows!

    15. Yes I have tinted my brows and lashes at home many times. It works really well and is very easy to do using those little kits...just follow the instructions. If trying it for the first time you could just leave it on for 5 mins instead of 10 mins to get an idea of the colour intensity. Hope you had a lovely Xmas and have a Happy New Year Kats!

    16. Never, oh never would I attempt to dye my own lashes or brows. I've had both done professionally, but only once because I really couldn't see much difference. I just use a pencil each day on my brows (or what there is of them), but my fringe is my best friend when it comes to my brows.

      ReplyDelete
    17. Gee, that must have been disappointing for you onileonie - I'd want to see a major improvement if I forked out for the treatment! My lashes and brows are almost invisible too - lashes I can fix with mascara, but the whole brow thing every single day is driving me bonkers. I might have to grow my fringe back too lol ♥

      ReplyDelete
    18. Hmm I gather the question was whether you've ever dyed your eyebrows or lashes? I've only dyed my lashes once, professionally. There isn't anything stopping me from doing it again but I just haven't thought about doing it.
