EOTD: Sweet Kisses Autumn shades...

For those of you who aren't into bright and bold shades, here's a much softer Autumn look :-) The pigmentation of the three shadows I used here from the Models Prefer Sweet Kisses tin was disappointing, but I managed to get them to express themselves a little better by using essence white kajal underneath...

I started with Pistachio on the inner corner, then blended into Cocoa, and finished with Honey Crunch on the outside, as well as underneath...

The Pistachio is such a pretty pastel green and lifts the look out of the neutral zone - next time I'll probably pair it with the pale lavender Black Forest, or maybe even the Strawberry Cream? (Don't you just love the mouth watering names of these shadows?) Although some of these colours are a bit powdery and in my book, wishy washy, I do think that Models Prefer have done a pretty good job of putting complimentary hues together in this palette. Just looking at the pans here while I'm typing this, I'm getting all sorts of ideas as to what to put with what next time...

I lined my waterline with bhcosmetics Waterproof Gel Liner in Huntress - I opted for this bolder green here because pastels really don't do me any favours. I find I have to have something somewhere with a bit of oomph or else my eyes don't get the definition they need to not get lost behind my specs...

Can you see this more delicate combination of shades working for you this Autumn?

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  1. I know exactly what you mean about the shadows in the tin Kats. Some of the shadows were lovely but a few were so difficult to work with. Some particular shadows wouldn't even show on my skin :-(
But you have done a fantastic job with the shadows here. Another gorgeous Autumn look! The green liner on your waterline really compliments the natural shade of your eyes too :D Really pretty xxx

    1. Oh my goodness Gemma, you're so quick - I only just published this! Hon, clunky shadows are like a red rag to a bull to me - I'm determined to push that pistachio until it shows me exactly how gorgeous it is lol xxx

  2. It's such a treat visiting your blog and seeing a new EOTD!
You've mastered the rainbow of eye looks - from the deep and dramatic, to the vivid and to the subdued, your skills are so refined and it just looks so effortless!

I was just wondering, how long does it take on average for an EOTD look and do the colours just jump out at you or does it require planning? I just stick to neutrals because experimenting with colours looks so funny on me!

    1. Hi gorgeous! Takes me about 20 minutes to do my eyes - and at least 5 minutes of that is curling my lashes and applying mascara, layer upon layer upon layer (about 5). My lashes are blonde and sparse and I have to use an awful lot of mascara for them to even show up a teeny bit in the photos. I simply MUST go back to using RapidLash, makes a HUGE difference to the length and volume :-) I could probably take less time, but I loathe having to touch up my eyes during the day (except for the waterline) so I spend a while making sure everything is completely set so I don't have to fiddle later on.

During the week my looks are definitely planned - I usually choose my outfit the night before (no time at 4:30am!) and then I dig out what eye products I'm going to use to match, and think about how I will apply them. Sometimes I just HAVE to wear a particular colour eye shadow, so on those days I match my outfit to my eye makeup lol... Weekends are a free-for-all unless I'm going out somewhere special - if it's just the supermarket, then I use whatever I want to experiment with, and don't worry about matching anything...♥ Hope this answers your questions hon :-)

    1. Indie I'm hopeless when it comes to palettes with shadows that are, shall we say, less than perfect - I can't bear waste, and having some pans that remain untouched because they are wimps really annoys me ha ha... But there's usually SOME way to get them all happening, I just have to persist!
