Last Monday my darling friend Gemma from Lady Sapphire Blog created a gorgeous sparkly purple mani, with a special shout out to me - so here's my shout back to this very special sweetheart of the blogging world ♥
So now, don't you just LOVE a purply eyeshadow that has some sparkles in it? I've been wanting to create another look with these MUA shadows for months, and finally made it happen...
I have a number of MUA individual shadows in my collection, and there's not a single dud amongst them. These two are from the Fashionista range which doesn't seem to be available any more, however I've no doubt they'll come up with something equally brilliant to replace them in the not too distant future. The one on the left is called Embellished (it's the one that contains the sparkles) and on the right is Bewitched...
My camera makes them appear almost grey, but in real life they were just as pinky/purple as they look in the pics above. I wanted something light and airy, so I used essence white kajal as my base, applied the deeper shade all over the back of the lid, and used the lighter glittery one close to my lashes and underneath.
I also dampened the brush a little before picking up the powder to bring out the shine and multi-hued components of this ever so pretty shadow. Keeping the moistened application close to my lash line avoids transfer to my hoods when I'm in a hurry, and don't have time to wait till it dries...
I used the same essence white kajal on my water line this time around - been playing around with black and brown liners lately, but this soft glisteny look needed the lift that only white can bring...
Take care of you,
kats xxx
This look is super dreamy and feminine, Kat. Your lashes look so lovely with the lighter lavender as their backdrop. Well done, gorgeous xx
ReplyDeleteBless you for noticing Indie - boy my spindly lashes need all the help they can get ha ha! Must get back onto the Rapid Lash, it's the only product that works for me xxx
DeleteThis is so soft and lovely, just like our Gemma. Beautifully done, Kats - I can't believe you can match an eye makeup to a person as beautifully and appropriately as you do so often. It's a true art, one that can only be achieved by a very special and thoughtful person.
ReplyDeleteWith love,
Trish.
Trish this world wouldn't be the same without you. You brighten up every room you enter simply be being present...and that goes for online forums too.
DeleteI hope all is well with you and hubby. xxxx
Well now what a treat to start my week - two loving posts from two of my very dear friends ♥ I'm seconding Gemma's comment Trish (and "thirding" AND with bells!) and thanking you so very very much for your uplifting words. The truth is it's very easy to (kind of) match darling gals when you know what's in their hearts, and I say "kind of" because no artist in the world could EVER express on canvas how beautiful you are, not even Renoir ♥♥♥
DeleteOh Kats what a lovely surprise. You have truly warmed my heart :) xx Big hugs and kisses for you.
ReplyDeleteThat shadow is so lovely. I love its mix of purple and pink shades. The white liner goes really well with the shadow too. It isn't too strong and just sits back and allows the beauty of the shadow to do all the talking.
Thank you so much for bringing a huge smile to my face Kats. You are a wonderful friend xx
Hehe I feel like I'm spamming now!
DeleteI've tagged you in this post Kats-

I'd love to be cheeky and see what you have!
Sweetheart you just spam away to your hearts content - your comments always bring me so much happiness, and the more the merrier I say ♥ As for the tag, well that makes two! The lovely Varinder got me earlier, and now with yours, I guess my bedside bits are going to be revealed very soon ha ha.
DeleteSo glad you liked the lavender look hon - I thought it would go PERFECTLY with your purple mani - love and hugs to you treasure (((xxx)))
I've had a really lovely few days and I pop in here and my eyes filled with happy tears - very happy tears. Gemma and Kats your beautiful words are so lovely and I feel so blessed. There's no way I could say the things I do without such gorgeous people like you two to say them to and about.
ReplyDeleteYou've both made me feel about as special as it gets and I do thank you.
With love and a huge hug.
Trish.
My darling Trish, you've gotten me all teary too - love ya to bits, and then some more ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
DeleteAww what a special friendship you guys have!! This look is so soft & divine, there's so much to admire :))
ReplyDeleteHiya babe, so sweet of you to join in our little love-fest ha ha. It's pretty amazing considering we've never even met hey? I feel close to you too hon - you're so incredibly supportive of all the crazy things I post here, means a great deal to me ♥ Big kisses XXX
DeleteKats, this EOTD is a bit more subdued than usual, but I really, really love it! How sweet that you've done it in honour of Gemma.
ReplyDeleteThanks treasure - it is a bit quieter than normal hey, chuffed you like it, and I'm always extra happy when I see post from you hon ♥
DeleteAm only catching up now on all these blogs you have done. (changing to windows 7 and my computer man put IE 11 on....which is not compatible with most of the sites I use).
ReplyDeleteThis eyeshadow is simply breathtakingly feminine. Gosh, I could just sit here all day admiring it. Hang on.......is it hypnotising me or something??? I am feeling calm.
It really has captured the beautiful Gemma.
Now off to catch up on all the blogs in case I can't get back in here again.
I empathise Mandy - I have a new pc that's Windows 8, and most of my apps don't work on it, so I'm hanging onto my xp box for dear life ha ha. So happy you like this look hon - I had a surprisingly serene day when I wore it, so I guess I should trot it out more often lol...
