EOTD: Smokey MAC Shimmermoss...

Whoops! See what a little encouragement can do? You gals might just have started me on an out-of-control binge of black waterlining ha ha! But I'm ever so grateful for your loving words of support, and for giving me the confidence to pull of this smouldery kind of look

Actually the black gel I used is from the Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips stack - the one for green eyes - and it has tiny little green sparkles in it, so the camera picks it up as an almost deep bottle green. This formula is fabulous for water lining (if only I'd known that two years ago ha ha, but hey I wasn't ready then) because it lasts at least till lunchtime once I've let it dry completely. This is quite a feat because my eyes water at the drop of a hat :-)

I used the same gel liner as my eye shadow base, and before it dried, I applied an old love of my life, MAC Shimmermoss, over the top. This is a pale aqua green, but it turned out quite deep and intense when patted on over the black...

For some contrast I smudged the outer corner with a matte forest green from the NYX Bohemian Chic Nude Matte palette, and brushed it along the lower lash line. I definitely think mattifying the outside of a shimmery eye shadow has benefits...

Here's the finished face - I opted for a pastel pink lip to soften things down a little, although I wish I could soften those damn eye bags lol...

Hope you've had a beaut week

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  2. Such a gorgeous green! I actually do have this somewhere in my basket of eyeshadows, but I find that I can never get it to show up that vibrant. Will definitely need to try out a base for it :)

    1. A base makes all the difference Sarah - for some reason the black underneath makes it look extra green. Hope you can find it hon, it's so creamy and rich :-)

  3. Kats, I wonder if your co-workers are ever distracted from their work by looking at your stunning makeup looks. This one looks absolutely gorgeous (as usual).

    1. Petal, believe me they don't even notice. I tend to wear brightly coloured clothing, and with my hair newly redded, what's behind my specs doesn't even raise an eyebrow ha ha. Thanks for your ever so sweet comment though hon ♥
