EOTD & REVIEW: Sleek Arabian Nights Smoke & Shadows...

As promised, the first of no doubt many MANY eye looks I'll be creating using the fabulous Sleek I-Divine Arabian Nights Smoke & Shadows palette. This is a special one gals - the colours are exquisite, and if you scroll down, the swatches will have you dreaming up 1001 ways to get your hands on this treasure chest of jewels...

Personally, I'm finding it somewhat torturous each morning trying to decide which colours to use, and for once, I'm not necessarily matching my EOTD to my outfit - I'm just going with whatever hue I find the most irresistible at the time

Naturally I'm drawn to the greens, so this look might be a wee bit boring for starters, but I promise you I'll be playing with ALL the pigments in the coming weeks - there's not a single one that doesn't have me completely entranced...

I laid down a base of essence white kajal (and will do so for every one one of these colours initially because I want to see their true beauty before I start interfering lol). On the inner corner I patted on the palest green - Sultan's Garden - and then moved onto the bolder hue - Hocus Pocus. This is a magnificent teal  I smoked the outside edge with a tinge of bronzey Genie, and then went over the pale green with Gold Souk - a sheer sparkly stunner that will get lots of use. I lined the lower lashes with Mirenesse Secret Weapon 24HR Pure Gold Eye liner, softened it with Hocus Pocus, and finished with essence I Have a Green on the waterline...

And here are the swatches, three swipes of each over a BB Cream base. As you can see the only ones that aren't all that pigmented are the first two, the rest are amazing. Names are left to right...

Scherezade's Tale (shimmer), Gold Souk (shimmer sparkle), Aladdin's Lamp (shimmer sparkle), Sultan's Garden (shimmer sparkle), Hocus Pocus (shimmer sparkle), Sinbad's Seas (pearl)...

Genie (shimmer sparkle), Black Magic (black with blue sparkle), Stallion (pearl), Sorcerer (pearl sparkle), Valley of Diamonds (matte with gold sparkle) & 1001 Nights (pearl)...

They are all particularly buttery, smooth as silk, and when creating this EOTD, there was barely any fallout. Sigh...my phone camera just doesn't do them justice, so you'll just have to try them for yourselves...

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  1. Kats this is phenomenal!!! I just adore how well jewel-toned shimmery eyeshadows look on your eyes. Not boring at all, so eye-catching :)

I've seen this pretty palette floating around but didn't think many looks would come out of it, especially for me as I don't really use colour but I know you're going to prove me wrong - I can't wait to see you play around more with the gorgeous shades!

PS: what phone do you use? I reckon the camera picks up your colourful creation beautifully! Whenever I use mine (HTC one M7) to take a photo it never picks up anything hahaha!

    1. Aww thanks so much for your super special comment themissus - you always succeed in brightening my day ♥ The phone I use for my eye pics is an HTC Incredible S - it's not too bad but things turns out a bit grainy at times, and it never picks up the sparkles in eye shadows. On the whole though I shouldn't complain - anything fancier and you wouldn't want to see my old eyes in closeup ha ha

  2. This is fanatastic! The mix of green shimmer/sparkle with the gold is SO effective! Your lashes are more obvious than previously too. I'm seriously considering the Shu uemera curler. I've also got the dilemma of original or new cheaper 'S' curler.
    SUBLIME KATS!

    1. Lol hon - sublime is such a fabulous word, and I so appreciate you using it here! Yes the lashes are going swimmingly - the RapidLash serum is making them grow longer and more lush too, but the curler is a beauty. You're in the same pickle I was in - maybe put the names into a hat and draw one out? I'm sure either one will be just great ♥

    1. Thank you my darling Gemma - these jewel tones are just divine, and I'm very excited about what I'm going to create in the months ahead. I try and think up combos when I get into bed, but I usually fall asleep before I've finished working them out lol... ♥♥♥

    1. Must, must, must Indie - the colours are really quite a bit different to the usual, and they all go so beautifully together. I'm thinking the next one just might be the teal and the purple - LOVE those shades together ♥
