EOTD: bhcosmetics Yellow and Green...

With Australia Day looming on the horizon, I figured it was time to get in a little bit of practice for this auspicious occasion. It's always tough for me to decide whether to go with this Aussie colour combo, or the red, white and blue of our flag, but at the end of the day, yellow and green is a tad more eye-friendly, especially for workdays, so that's what I went for...

I have a fabulous matte yellow in my Sugarpill collection, but neither of the two greens (Midori mint and Acidberry lime) seemed to have enough Downunder punch, so I decided to go with my old faithful bhcosmetics Take Me To Brazil palette...

As always, whenever I want the true shade of a shadow to come out, I use essence white kajal as my base. Over this I kept the yellow close to the lashline, and then blended the bright green over the rest of the lid. A touch of the black in the crease, and bhcosmetics Waterproof Eye Crayon in Huntress on the waterline, and I was ready to chant "Come on Aussie!"...

Outfit-wise, I hardly ever wear yellow, mainly because I can never seem to find any clothing items in this sunny hue - it's a pity really because it's such a happy colour. On this particular day, I remembered I had a pretty buttercup tank top stashed in the back of the wardrobe, and decided to dig out my fun retro earrings (that I've had for over 25 years). Lips were Innoxa matte Chocolate, with essence XXXL lipgloss in Party Connection over the top. For my cheeks I went for ModelCo Peach Bellini...

Are you planning a patriotic makeup look for Australia Day?

Take care of you,

  1. I haven't thought that far ahead yet! Plus, I don't think I could pull off that colour combination like you.

    1. Lol, I'm always trying to come up with excuses TP lol! But you know an Aussie theme doesn't have to involve colour, although in my case it most definitely does ♥

  2. Your earrings are so cool :) That palette sure packs a punch, leading to such a vibrant and bold patriotic look!

I rarely wear colour on my eyes but I think I can do a bit of gold on the inner half of my eye and if I can find green, I'll throw it on the outer half. Yayyyyy :)

    1. Hey hon, thanks heaps for your feedback. Lol you know I have a regular cull of my jewellery, but I've never been able to let go of these black and yellow fun ones ♡
Sounds like a great plan for the big day xxx

  3. This is a combination that wouldn't suit most people, but you can pull it off with your green eyes.
There are a lot of reds & oranges for one palette. I'd be curious to get into those to see what they look like.

    1. Thank you sweetie - the reds and oranges are fabulous, I've done quite a few "sunset" eyes with this palette, I just have to be careful where I put the red (so I don't look like I've been bawling my eyes out ha ha)...♥
