1. Name a beauty routine you rarely do.
I have some magical face masks on my bathroom bench, and they just sit there gathering dust, which is kinda odd because I LOVE what masks do for my skin, but somehow I never get around to them - boo!
2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
You betcha baby - I clean mine (note I said clean, not wash) after every single use with Neutrogena face wipes - these magical towlettes take off every trace of makeup, waterproof gel liner, blush etc., and not one of my brushes has deteriorated, shed or looks tatty after more than 2 years of this routine. Highly recommended :-)
3. How long will you last with chipped nail varnish?
I only wear polish on my toes, and I redo them faithfully every 2 weeks - they never chip, so I can't truthfully answer this one. But thinking about it...if I did paint my fingernails, I'd take it off or redo it as soon as it was the slightest bit chippy - I'm a hopeless perfectionist :-)
4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty or nail polish product even if you need it (i.e. top coat, foundation, etc)?
Never, ever - I usually have spares of most things in my drawers. I LOATHE running out of anything...
5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Umm, see #1 above...
6. Name something non beauty related that you put off all the time?
I am embarrassingly neglectful when it comes to emailing my dear dear friends - at least I get to chat with some of them on my blog. There's one other biggie - bh product reviews. I have at least 200 to do...sigh...
7. When going out somewhere do you leave getting ready to the last minute or not?
Are you kidding? I'm no last minute Charlie! It takes me at least an hour to get presentable...
8. Can you commit to spending bans?
Totally ♥ The secret is to NOT call them spending bans, but rather "I'm saving for xyz because I really REALLY want it" or "3 birthdays in the family this month, so nada for moi this time"...
9. How organised are your makeup and nail polish collections?
Makeup is all in drawer cabinets and those clear plastic stands & jars - I have so much I couldn't cope if it wasn't all categorised. My collection of nail polishes is in a small cardboard box - not very glamorous but at least I know where everything is lol...
10. What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?
Gee, I think 4 days because I had to work nights, and I swear it was one of the WORST times in my life - I'm totally in love with blogging ♥

Rose my dear, thank you so much for posting your link - I'd forgotten that you'd done your tag post last week (which I'd read but not commented on). In fact you and I are delightfully similar on some points :-)
DeleteYEY! Loved reading your answers Kats :D
ReplyDeleteThat's so wonderful that you take good care of your brushes. I wish I was more like you!
I adore how organised your beauty products are too. The drawers look fantastic :D Must add them to my wish list.

Lol Gemma, I remember the time when I used to think "what's the big deal with eye shadow brushes? Those little sponge thingies are just fine!". Hey the drawers are still available at KMart in the stationery section - from memory they were $18 each. They're pretty good, but not all that deep so some of my gel liners don't fit, but they're terrific for shadows, lipglosses, blushes etc... xxx
DeleteTerrific Kats - Honestly, I don't know what I'd have done if you hadn't posted your brush cleaning ritual in BH ages ago and I've followed it ever since with excellent results. I couldn't use some of the specific brush cleaners because I couldn't stand the smell and shampoo was a pain but then you gave me the answer I needed. It's great when you get an answer to a problem that works so well. I am very appreciative!
ReplyDeleteI still marvel at the short time span you've been blogging and you really do look as though you were born to blog.
Take care and have a RESTFUL Easter break if you can.
With love,
Trish.
Hi beautiful lady - how happy I am that one of my funny little ways has helped you dear lady, and you're such a sweetheart for letting me know ♥ I used to wash my brushes every week or so, but it was such a pain to dry them, and they often went all feathery and lost their shape, but the Neutrogena wipe cleaning technique keeps them looking like new :-)
DeleteI have lots of things planned for these holidays, but I can assure you that they will all be done in a relaxed frame of mind, and the mere fact that I don't have to get up at 4:30am for over a week has me in a permanent state of bliss ha ha! Happy Easter to you my love ♥
Am only just reading how to clean brushes and I LIKE IT!!!!. For the very few brushes I use I admit, I can't be bothered washing them every week as I don't use them every week. Loving the idea of the Neutrogena wipes....will be doing that in future.
ReplyDeleteI am the same when it comes to nail polishes.....religiously paint my toe nails and my hands are just done if going out (which is rare).
I'd get lost with all the boxes you have for your beauty products but they look really good and neat in order. I have a small case with my few items and I find it hard to find what I want in there lol.
Enjoyed this article of getting to know you more. Clapping hands :-)
Mandy girl, the wipes are the best, but it has to be Neutrogena - none of the others seem to remove all the makeup without leaving any product behind. I gently rub the brushes over the wipe, back and forward, moving around onto clean sections of cloth until there's no goop coming off the brush, and then I swipe it a few times on a clean towel. Works a treat hon ♥
DeleteThat's a great way of looking at a spending ban! I might have to give that one a go.
ReplyDeleteAwesome read, I love getting to know bloggers a little better :) xxx
Hey babe, I can't STAND feeling restricted (I think it's a Sagittarian thing) and simply couldn't cope with a "ban" - of course it's still a kind of a ban, but somehow it doesn't feel quite so maniacally disciplined lol... I love these tags too and the sometimes shared little secrets they reveal ♥
DeleteThank you for letting us take a peek at your makeup supplies. It is like looking at where the master artist works!
ReplyDeletePetal my love, I'm still looking for the perfect storage solution, but at least this system keeps things reasonably tidy and dust-free. I really need to do a ruthless cull though - I'm pretty good when it comes to clearing out my wardrobe, but tossing out rarely used make up items is a toughie for me ♥
DeleteLoved your tag answers! The wipes to clean your brushes is so genius! I am going to have to try that out, considering I don't use my brushes often and when I do, I don't want to wash them all the time! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my tag results, I just posted it today!

Hope the brush cleaning routine works as well for you as it does for me Avie - and thanks for sharing your tag post hon, these answer thingies always fascinate me lol...
