EOTD: Smashbox Autumn mix...

Well last Wednesday was an interesting day - I woke up with a severe case of Autumn-itis, and was compelled to create something earthy...

Sure I've done quite a few Autumnal looks of late, but I don't believe I've EVER used brown on my waterline before - I'd kind of categorised it along with grey as a totally unsuitable shade to apply here due to it not being bright and bold, but I kinda like this muddy touch...

This Smashbox Click You're It palette is getting heaps of use - it's just so perfect for the season, and as you can see I've combined shades from two different columns again, but I reckon they partner well together...

For my base I used MNY Color Tattoo in Bold Gold, and blended #15, #10 & #11 from inner to outer corner, and continued on with #11 underneath...

On the waterline is brown Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Gel liner from the blue stack - the formula of this range lasts the longest of any liner I've ever used on my waterline, so I'm officially declaring it the best in my kit!

And here's the complete browny look - I chose gold toned accessories to give the deep chocolate a lift...

I really love these shades of nature, and the tinge of green on the inner corner stops it being boring lol...

Do you have a favourite palette for creating an earthy eye look?

Take care of you,
kats xxx

  4. Lovely Kat !!! I must get some pointers from you as I don't think that I've mastered the technique of eye makeup yet. I have some lovely frosts in my eyeshadow collection but they don't turn out vivid as on your eyes. You mentioned a "base". I don't use a base which may be my problem. Could you please email me with some advice on this. For instance, what colours do you use for a base and how do you know what to use with your chosen eyeshadow colours. I'm ever go "green" at this !!!

    1. Hey Arty - the "base" is definitely the secret to my vivid eye looks. It can be a cream eye shadow (like MNY Tattoo) or a gel liner, or a kajal crayon - basically whatever you can apply to your lid that the shadow will adhere to. If you want to make a purple shadow more intense, then apply a matching purple base first, and press the shadow over the top. If you want to make a purple shadow deeper and darker, then use a black base. If you want to make a purple shadow remain as clear and bright as it is in the pan, use a white base. If you don't have an aqua shadow in your kit, then use a blue base and apply a green shadow over the top. You need to play around and experiment with mixing colours together, and it all depends what you have in your collection. If you read through my EOTD posts, you'll find that in every one of them, I mention what base I use. Hope this helps hon ♥
