These exquisite new Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquers weren't part of my recent lipstick refresh (which is ongoing by the way ha ha!), but they're just so stunning, I had to review them lickety-split while they're hot out of the oven, PLUS they're on special in various locations at the moment, and I didn't want any of you lovelies to miss out on the amazing deals, so here we go...
Left to right: Smokey Quartz, Citrine, Fire Opal, Carnelian, Garnet
I discovered these on a fancy-wancy new stand at Target only last weekend, fell madly in love, and bought three of them at full price ($23.95) without even blinking - that's how much I love them! Then my gorgeous friend at LOVETHATLIPPIE BLOG mentioned in one of her haul posts (bless you babe) that they were available at BigW, two for $30, so I hotfooted it to my local mall, but got sidetracked at Chemist Warehouse along the way where I found them also on special for $14.99 each, and picked up two more...
They are absolute gems, have a jewel on the top of the cap, and in fact they're all named after semi-precious stones - I can understand why. The colours are crystal clear, the pigmentation is sensational, the applicator is a soft and flexible brush that makes creating a crisp line as easy as pie, the formula is thick and rich without being sticky, and some shades are straight gloss while others have a shimmery sparkly finish. What more could a girl want in a lip lacquer? Rest assured I'm currently re-working my budget so I can pick up a whole lot more while they're discounted...
So let's get on with the swatches on my wonky old lips lol...
I'm not a big wearer of brown toned lip products, but I'm besotted with this Smokey Quartz hue - it has just enough pink in it to warm it up and not be boring, and dare I say it, I think this is my fave of the bunch (well so far) ♥...
Next is Citrine - holey guacemole is this a vibrant orange or what? This shade has the most shimmer of the five in my kit - it's almost iridescent! The juiciest fruitiest orange gloss I've ever come across...
And here we have Fire Opal, a brilliant orangey red - crikey it's so hot it's almost sizzling. Pure fresh clear colour - yowzah!
This is Carnelian, and the one that first caught my eye on the stand. I couldn't believe my eyes when I swatched it in the store - so berry ripe and luscious, and like the other deeper hues, it leaves a generous stain...
And lucky last is Garnet - a divinely flattering pink that's just in time for just-around-the-corner Spring. Soooooo pretty...
Oh dear, after writing up this post I'm KICKING myself for not buying more - there are 15 in the range (including beautiful nudes). What's more, Revlon have also released a set of Ultra HD lipsticks - I haven't indulged as yet because I'm already somewhat over-stocked with lippies (due to aforementioned refresh), but I have no doubt whatsoever I'll weaken lol...
So there you have it my dears - Revlon are onto a winner here. These lip lacquers are absolutely Ultra HD and Ultra-Sensational, and most definitely get the kats WOW stamp of approval ♥
What's your favourite shade from the ones pictured above?
Take care of you,
kats xxx
P.S. Be sure and check out Ingrid's Monday Makeup Madness Linkup Party #20 when it goes live ♥...
That Carnelian is beautiful, but I'd probably go with Fire Opal on a date. I've read about how bright fire engine reds (monkey-arse reds I call them) stimulate men's pituitary glands. I'm a nerd & I'm single, so I've got stratagems.
ReplyDeleteLol neurotic your honesty is precious, and you're a mine of information on the dating scene - thanks for the tip, I'm sure we'll all benefit from putting a bit of monkey-arse red on our puckers ha ha ♥♥♥
DeleteThese are gorgeous! I must try and grab some!
ReplyDeleteHighly recommended hon, hope you can find them at the lower price - they're well worth going on a bit of a treasure hunt ♥x♥
DeleteLove love love!!! I bought two at the big w sale- they're sooo gorgeous!!! I think i might pick up two more!! Beautiful swatches and review as always!! The prettiest pictures around! Have a fantastic day and week!!!,Xo
ReplyDeleteThanks beautiful lady! I have my eye on a couple more at least - have you tried the lipsticks in the range as well? I desperately need your feedback and swatches ♥♥♥
DeleteAhoy! Ive tried four...the colours are amazing, but the smell I couldnt take :-( Im happy to mail you them if you like- ill sterilize them with alcohol- ive got two unopened i think! Just drop me an email if youre interested and theyre all yours!!! Xo
DeleteWhat? Oh hon I don't believe it - these lacquers have a smell? Let me go and grab one...
DeleteYeah I guess they're a bit perfumey, doesn't bother me at all but I'm shattered that they're giving you a hard time. I'll email you babe ♥
Whoops my mistake - it's the HD LIPSTICKS that have a troublesome smell ♡
DeleteI love the Carnelian and Smokey Quartz shades the best. Great swatches! The colours look so vibrant! Gorgeous! Thanks for the sales alert!
ReplyDeleteAren't they just the prettiest colours Ingrid? I felt like a kid in a lolly store when I was in front of the stand - it was pure torture trying to decide which ones to buy ha ha ♥♥♥
DeleteOg gosh, these glosses are divine! Great review and swatches...very ENABLING swatches! xx
ReplyDeleteHow sweet you are Indie - I swear my lips are a different shape every day when I wake up, one of the hazards of ageing, depends which side I slept on lol. You MUST try some of these lacquers hon, they're truly divine ♥♥♥
DeleteI actually got one of those from the US in November last year (can't believe it took so long for the range to land in Australia) and I have to say I am not too impressed with the Petalite shade. I can only wear a small amount to make sure it doesn't glue my bottom lip to the upper one. The shade is beautiful though...
ReplyDeleteWow what a bummer Magda - I don't find them sticky at all. I'm kinda hoping they took ages to arrive here because they were reworking the formula! I checked out Petalite, and yes it's gorgeous, and on my list ♥
DeleteThey look CRAZY pigmented! How beautiful! Love the swatches too, by the way.
ReplyDeleteTP I reckon they're the best I've ever tried - so many lacquers I find are thin and watery and can't be worn alone, but these are so intense they even cover my freckles ♥
DeleteCitrine is so unique, I actually really like it! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty out there hey Jasmine - a whole heap of fun though, rare to find a yellowy orange that doesn't make me look ill ha ha ♥x♥
DeleteFor the first time probably ever I just can't pick a stand out fav, these all look absolutely beautiful! How awesome they are on special at the moment too! :) I too feel like I have too many lippies in my collection and am working on down sizing and just keeping the absolute favs I wear all the time. SO HARD TO DO! I am sure you can relate. ;) Beautiful blog post Kat, as always a pleasure to read! xx
ReplyDeleteRelate I can Candy, and only too well. I actually had very few lipsticks in my kit (most of them were ancient ones from GWPs) and I'd grown weary of mixing them together to get the right shade, so I embarked on this "update", and now I'm having trouble stopping! There are just SO many beautiful colours out there - I admire your ability to resist darling, truly ♥
