Well with less than a month till Spring, thought I'd better start practising some lighter brighter looks so I'm ready to welcome our beloved lady in style. Plus I know that my gorgeous gal pal over at Lovethatlippie Blog has just recently bought this Maybelline Emerald Hyper Diamonds palette, so it was the perfect excuse to dig mine out from the depths of my eye shadow drawers - must be getting onto 3 years old now, and it's still got what it takes...
As you can see mine is sure showing it's age and the effects of the many times I've used it, but the fact that you can still buy this baby speaks volumes about both it's excellence, and it's popularity...
I partnered it with another fairly recent Aldi discovery, Lacura Beauty Dual End Cream Eyeshadow. There are three colour combos in the range - I bought all of them, but this is the one that first caught my eye on the table - such a pretty and soft olivey lime green, and the copper shade is amazing, but I'm saving that for another time...
I used Chi Chi Waterproof Gel Eyeliner in Caribbean Queen as my base on the outer two thirds, and pressed the left pan from the palette in the middle section, and the dark sparkly green on the outer corner and underneath. Inner one third is all Lacura lime, with no base. This cream is brilliant, dries in about 5 seconds, and then doesn't budge unless you manage to get it wet, so not recommended if you're planning on watching a tear-jerker movie. I was wearing a tealy green top so I lined the waterline with a shade that was halfway between lime and teal to tie it all together - bhcosmetics Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon in the shade Huntress...
On my face is Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation, cheeks are Maybelline Master Glaze blush Stick in Coral Sheen with a dusting of the middle pan from the BYS Endless Summer Blush trio. Lips are Chi Chi Viva La Diva Lipstick in Burn Baby Burn with a slick of essence XXXL Longlasting Lipgloss in the shade Coral Delight...
If you're wondering how I remember what I've used, well I can assure you I don't! I actually leave all my makeup items scattered around the room when I bolt out the door at 6am, and then take a photo of everything when I get home after work ha ha...
Are you gearing up for Spring already?
Take care of you,
kats xxx
You're the best!!!! Going to give this palette a go next week!! Looking gorgeous and LOVE that lippie with the green eye combo!! Perfection!! Xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHey babe, thanks for the inspiration! I seem to be in a permanent state of guilt over all the palettes I'm neglecting - so this is one less now lol. Hope you love this collection of green gems as much as I do, the blues are divine as well, can't wait to see them in action on your beautiful eyes xxx
DeleteI can't wait for Spring! I love how you are conjuring up the upcoming glorious season in elegance and style xx
ReplyDeleteMe neither Indie - I tell you I'm hanging for the days when I can go to work and come home and it's still light! ♥♥♥
DeleteGorgeous in green! You always look amazing in green!
ReplyDeleteMy dear TP, thanks so much - yep green has a special place in my heart (and on my eyes lol) cxxx
DeleteDon't talk about spring yet :( It's still winter & I'm still loving the freshness in the air.
ReplyDeleteThat Lacura double-ender looks like the new Revlon eye duos (I think that's deliberate). It looks great without a base. This is one of my favourite looks in any colour: pale but bright colour at the inner ⅓, graduating to a very dark shade of the same colour on the outer lids. It's back to Aldi again. I got a Lacura cream blush pot but haven't tried it yet. Love this look!
Oops, I keep forgetting this is your favourite time of year hon ♥ And yes Aldi is renowned for packing some of their products to look like the competition. Glad you found the blush, these shadows might be harder to track down as I've only seen them in one store out of three, and they've already sold out xxx
DeleteYep, I've been having trouble finding them. I'll keep my eyes open for when they're featured in their catalogue. When they feature a regular item in their catalogue, they always seem to get extra stock in.
